    Mitsubishi LT-55164 Error 59

I have a 55" Mitsubishi with the VLP43 Chassis that boots but then flashes 5 Red and 9 Yellow power lights. They is no image on the screen whatsoever nor sound. Per the Service Manual, this indicates a "12VSHORT (Panel-Vcc)" and lists the most likely cause of failure as the "PWB-MAIN" board. This crosses to a "934C374002" per the Parts Quick Reference in the Service Manual.

Rather than replace the board outright (at $160), I wanted to see if anyone has an experience reworking the Main Board in this series of TVs. Unfortunately, the Service Manual doesn't list voltages and test points on the Main Board.

    Thanks!
    Peter

    Hello Peter,
Some really sharp picture of the boards (ability to read the component names and numbers) and the overall circuit board layouts would go a long way to receiving assistance.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Great Idea! Here's the overview and board specific shots on the Main Board. I've also attached the Service Manual for the VLP43+ Chassis.

Look at page 53. There are some regulators on the main board that need to be checked.

          Thanks Caps Leaker.

Unfortunately, I cannot find these Voltage Regulators anywhere on the board. To be clear, there are quite a number of them on the board, just not the ones listed on page 53 of the Service Manual. I've also looked at high resolution photos of replacement boards at ShopJimmy, same result: the Service Manual does not sync with the board...

The one capacitor looks as though it may be about to go faulty so would be worth checking.

BadCapsTx Not that I can prove it.... EEPROM Failures were prevalent in other Flat Panel TVs built during this era. LG / VIZIO. I have the same LT-55164 and will be replacing the IC5G02 271P367010 IC:AT24C512BN-SH-T. Tried a reset... NO JOY... but at a cost of about $ 1.00 it is worth a try... will report back with my findings.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                  by H34TO
Recently I've gotten into EC flashing due to my broken laptop(s) and started frantically searching methods for flashing the IT5571E-128 chip on the cheap(due to me beaing a student and not having a job) and noticed that ITE newer chips can be flashed via ISP (In-System Programming) either via SMBus or the KBC (EPP - Enhanced Parallel Port) interface. While these can be achieved with programmers like SVOD4/3 or the RT809H/F those options are WAYYY out of my budget so I was horrified. But recently I stumbled uppon some programmers on aliexpress that claim they can program a variety of ITE chips...

                  Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                  More Details

                  TV Model - LG OLED77G1PUA

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...

                  Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
                  by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
                  CN6401
                  Pin 01 NC
                  Pin 02 NC
                  Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                  Pin 04 "N/C"
                  Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                  Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                  Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...
