TV is approx 2 years old. Used frequently until 2/5 blink pattern of death (2-5 error code) appeared. I disconnected all 4 ribbon cables and the backlight comes on with the 2/5 blink pattern replaced with a steady glow. I've read on this forum that this means the panel is bad, but if the 2/5 blink pattern persists the T-Con needs to be replaced. Is this correct? What should be my next step?

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE755U - 2/5 Blink Pattern
nope... unlikely. you need the follow the advice in some of the other threads. disconnect one of the corner cables... bottom right or left on the panel. With all the tcon cables connected, you should get a picture depending on which side is disconnected. That will tell you which side of the panel is possibly in trouble. go from there. -
Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE755U - 2/5 Blink Pattern
budwich, thanks for your help. I disconnected the right corner cable (as viewed from the back) and the screen came on! I've posted a picture below of what the screen now looks like. I believe I can solve the issue by following the steps in this thread:https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ht=sharp+aquos
Seems to be the "classinc tab issue." I will now begin to look for the culprit (bad tab/ and or bad tab driver)
Is there any need to see how the screen looks with the other corner bale disconnected? Am I heading in the right direction?Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE755U - 2/5 Blink Pattern
good progress... :-)
since the "tab operation" is not reversible, you do want to be careful. I would reverse the "corner cable disconnect test" to confirm that indeed the set does not come on... telling you that the now connected side is bad... hope that isn't too confusing. Then yes there are a number of threads that will get you thru to "removing" the failing tabs drivers and getting you a good picture again. Hope that helps. One other thing, if you get a source with a proper test pattern (color bars or equivalent), then people will readily see from pictures if you have specific issues and that they are addressed.
I think I can see the "standard horizontal lines" issue in your picture BUT it is hard to tell because the source picture is too busy.Last edited by budwich; 04-21-2016, 09:42 AM.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE755U - 2/5 Blink Pattern
Copy that. I checked for bad tabs/ tab drivers and didn't see any that looked burned out as in the thread I linked to aboveI will reverse the corner cable disconnect test to confirm the set does not come on. Below is the test pattern on the screen in its current state. Please notice there is black bars to either side of the test pattern since I could not get it to fit to screen. I have also included an image of the test pattern image I used. Hope this helps. Thanks again!

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-70LE755U - 2/5 Blink Pattern
It worked! I had removed the corner cable that had given me half a picture (right corner cable as viewed from the back of the set) and continued to remove the tab drivers on the same side. For anyone experiencing the same issue and wanting to remove these tab drivers, but unsure of how to remove these side tab drivers, I'll explain best I can on removing these. With the back cover off and the back of the set exposed I continued to remove the bezel which frames the front of the screen. I only removed the top and side screws. Removing only the top and side had given me enough room to remove the tabs on my particular set (LC-70LE755U). Working from top to bottom I would grab each tab and peel it forward towards the front of the set. DO NOT PULL OUTWARDS OR TO THE SIDE!!! There is only about 1/16" of these tabs connected to the screen and pulling outwards may tear the thin tab leaving remnants of said tab on the set (I had done this on a tab, but was able to remove the left overs with tweezers). It's very similar to removing a sticker. Once all tabs are removed I crossed my fingers and turned the set on. This worked out for me and this seems to be a common problem, but I also know this solution is a last resort. This solution is not reversible.Comment

by scubacamperI found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display... -
by sefosterI have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

by jonah1024Hello!
I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.
Recently, and all of a sudden my 40ā 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but Iām shore this is not an OLED.
- I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
- I did a factory reset as well...5 Photos -
by klassicHi community,
I will describe my problem with a TV in those short following terms to be the most precise :
What i have :

symptoms :
white led light logo at startup,
after 2 minutes, blinking 3 times a row, repeating
no backlight (and apparently no picture, checked panel with flashlight)

by foxyUKCan anyone help me diagnose this? Almost not worth bothering with, but it has 'sentimental value' for the owner. I'm no TV technician, but dabble a bit.
The TV has standby power but no reaction at all to switching on or reboot steps, No flashing lights or response to menu button. All voltages on the power board are correct apart from missing voltage on pin 12 of CN7003.
There is 13 v on U7053 but no 3v signal to switch it on. I don't really understand whether the 3v should come from U7401 in the standby control area, or (as suggested elsewhere) from the mainboard via pin 12.... - Loading...
