Hi I managed to get hold of Packard Bell owners who look to be Acer now to which I got this response

    Good Afternoon,

I am emailing in response to your recently received email dated 15th October regarding a query on a replacement panel.

To answer your questions, the cables for the LCD are connected via FPC ribbon/clip and not heat bonded.

The screen part number is 6986790000 however due to the age this part isn't available anymore unfortunately so a replacement screen is sadly not an available option.

My apologies for being the bearer of bad news.

    My Thanks & Regards
    Luke Milne

Positive would be that it is not heat bonded. Negative they don't have a replacement. Could I fit an alternative?

if you can find a exact match yes of course but theres a big risk of being damaged being removed/delivered/re fitted if i was you i would sell the boards etc out of that set and maybe look for another tv etc

yes they should be fine but i would of also replaced the small ones on the primary side of the power supply too whilst you have it apart makes sence ive marked the others with a red dot these may look ok but certainly worth changing them now.

you will need to repalce all the bad capacitors on the power board first i would replace all of them except the very large one on the primary side of the power supply even if the others look good they can still be bad esr wise etc untill you have replaced them we cant really help much further if you use rs components there in the uk free postage etc with no minimum order too i recomend panasonic fc/fr/fm range of capacitors as there low esr etc.

Hi. I'm sorry I cannot create my own thread so I have had to post in here which is the nearest to my own issue. I have a Packard Bell Smart TV S320 IBI-MEX. Power board FSP223-4F01 has inflated capacitors. I count 6 bad capacitors. The problem I have is that the tele boots up but I get nothing on screen, no blue screen or anything just dead black. Please could someone help me. Thank you.

Updates updates ! The set is fixed by me OP send the Psu to me for a recap, after recapping both secondary and primary side of the Psu with genuine Panasonic's the set is fixed and fires on straight away fine. Here is an image of the work preformed on the Psu:

    Would this kit be overkill?

The PSU board has 'fsp223-4f01' printed on it...

I agree with Andrew, they would probably cause the issue. Its advisable that you change all of them not just the bad ones. Change the smaller ones too the primary (big cap) will be ok.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
    by PantherDave
    Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
    by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Asus Z97-a power cycle, no boot no cpu voltage

Hello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...
