I would say you definitely have a main board problem. As for a replacement alot of places, like ebay, are hit and miss as many broken boards are sold as good.

I would drop SJ an email with your part number and model of tv and ask them to suggest a replacement. It's also quite likely someone here has already been through this. Maybe they'll drop in here or do a search of your part number and/or tv model if SJ can't help.

      Thanks for your help mmartell.

Does anyone else have suggestions for where to buy the Main Board (BN94-03313V) other than Shop Jimmy? They are out of stock, also out of stock of the one substitute, and don't know when/if they will be getting more in.

Here are the options I have identified (I'm not at all excited about eBay):

      1) Order from Samsung. It costs $203 and will take 2-3 weeks. Painful on both fronts.

      2) TV Parts for Sale - 90 day warranty - $89

      3) TV Parts Central - BN94-03313B (the more expensive version for some reason) - 90 day warranty - $118

      4) TV Parts in Stock - 60 day warranty - $55

Thoughts anyone?? Has anyone had good or bad experiences with any of these vendors or does anyone know any of them by reputation?

One other question: should I care about the T-Con checksum error? I have it on another Samsung and it does not seem to be creating any issues.

(Hopefully) the end of the story. Changing the Main Board seems to have fixed the problem. As a caution, I ordered the BN94-03313V, but originally I was sent the BN94-03313Y. The V and the Y are hard to distinguish on the sticker, but the Y is for the PN63c8000 - the 63" version. It was an honest mistake. The picture works using the Y board, but I got no sound. Yesterday, I got and installed the correct board, and the TV seems to work completely fine. It ran all night without a problem.

Thanks mmartell and others for all of the help. I really appreciate it.
