Hello all, welcome to my first actual post on this forum.
I have a Philips LC420WUF-SAA1 42" Ambilight TV, I actually had to buy it as a package as I was purchasing another TV which I fixed but the eBay seller would only sell the two TV's together. Anyway back to the matter at hand.
I have attached 3 photos to this post. My main problem is that I have no idea what sort of 6.7MΩ resistor this is. It's housed in a glass tube with what looks like a cap inside (even though it's a resistor), the resistor itself measures 1/2inch (7mm) and I must say that I'm completely lost as I've never seen anything like this before. To make matters even worse I can't find anything like this on eBay, Amazon or using a standard Google image search.
I believe that this resistor has blown, I can't measure any resistance using my multimeter. I also have a component tester that I use for measuring capacitor ESR readings, that tester too says that I'm measuring fresh air, so it's probably open.
BTW sorry for the bad quality photos, but it's dark in my lounge at this time of night.
Thank you for your help...
