Re: Vestel 17mb61-2 I screwed up my TV
Use the programmer to read the EEPROM from your new board, save the file and then save it onto your old board. If it works you will be very happy chappy inideed.

Re: sony 55ex723 fuse resistor 0.1ohm help
Update:
Hello people,
Well after looking all over the internet and coming to the conclusion that getting the original wirewound ceramic fusible resistor for the KDL-40EX723 was just an impossibility, I decided to go for an 0.1 Ohms 0.75 Watt wirewound resistor (see attached photo).
The TV has been running for 8 hours straight now with no issues whatsoever, and the resistor is running nice and cool to. I also changed 2 MOSFETS, Q6701 and Q6702 as they has popped, I also changed resistor R6548 for the...Last edited by Peter Simpson; 04-19-2016, 10:32 AM.

Re: sony 55ex723 fuse resistor 0.1ohm help
Hello All,
I too need this 0.1 Ohm 500 mW(1/2 Watt) wirewound ceramic resistor, but guess what, I cant find it anywhere on the internet.
Does anybody know where I can order this fusible resistor from, the smallest value I can find is 2 Watts. I'm willing to order it from anything on this vast planet of ours, but UK wise I just can't find the thing.
Thank you...

Re: Philips LC420WUF-SAA1 resistor issue (I think)
Hello all,
Well once I was told that the strange looking component should read open, I decided to look closer at the board again. I noticed one thing, I didn't check one capacitor, a 47uF 50v, so I took it out and tested it. Well it measures 43.10uF but the ESR was reading 0.88Ω which seemed a bit high to me (photo of the offending item is attached)
Anyway I changed the capacitor and the TV switched on. I decided to put the old capacitor back in and the TV refused to switch on again, so I put the new capacitor...Last edited by Peter Simpson; 04-03-2016, 08:41 AM.

Re: Philips LC420WUF-SAA1 resistor issue (I think)
Thank you for your help @Budm but there's two labels on the TV and that's the number on the label.
Here is a link to 4 photos showing the labels on the back cover https://www.dropbox.com/sh/iwdxcabq0ewoqry/AACmB-OpHn4jDF5wCnw974ima?dl=0

LC420WUF, straight from the back cover, cheers.
There is a 20 page service manual, but it does not seem to be up to much.

Re: Philips LC420WUF-SAA1 resistor issue (I think)
The TV does not power on.
As I can't find a service manual or basically any information about the TV on the net, also everything I've checked is working and there is no voltage legend on the power board, I'm lost, but I'm no expert either.
If that component should be reading open then I really stumped. I'll post some clear shots of the board tomorrow but this TV really is hard to find any information on, there are no boards for this TV on eBay either.
Thanks...

Philips LC420WUF-SAA1 resistor issue (I think)
Hello all, welcome to my first actual post on this forum.
I have a Philips LC420WUF-SAA1 42" Ambilight TV, I actually had to buy it as a package as I was purchasing another TV which I fixed but the eBay seller would only sell the two TV's together. Anyway back to the matter at hand.
I have attached 3 photos to this post. My main problem is that I have no idea what sort of 6.7MΩ resistor this is. It's housed in a glass tube with what looks like a cap inside (even though it's a resistor), the resistor itself measures 1/2inch (7mm) and I must say that I'm...Last edited by Peter Simpson; 04-02-2016, 04:53 PM.
