Vizio p50hdtv no channels.

I picked up a free 50" vizio that didn't power on. I changed the swollen and leaking caps on the psu.
The tv, turns on, I can access the menu, scan for channels but it never finds any.
Any clues? I haven't tried any other inputs yet.

Face palm. This thing is so old it can't pick up any channels over the air, it doesn't have a digital tuner.

Pick up an old Magnavox LCD a few years ago got it running but no channels. Discovered it did not have digital tuner! Hooked up tuner box and all was well. It has been parked in garage ever since.

Yup, works with cable, digital tuner and hdmi.

Maybe you should look at this video there is a tuner regulator that have to be changed.Or you have to change in setting from Cable to off the air.

I checked the TV specs. No digital tuner. Only analog.

Did you check if it's on Cable or Off air on the tuner settings

Yes I did. It doesn't work because there is no digital tuner. Over the air is not analog anymore.

Nothing now. Did you actually read the thread from the beginning? Lol
After replacing the bad caps on the psu, I put it in the TV. It turned on, I could access the menus but no channels.
I came here to ask for help, after my first post, I found out about the TV only having an analog tuner but the forum doesn't give a poster the option of deleting a post or thread once started.
That's why I made a second post indicating I'd figured out the problem.
You kept trying to help me solve something I already had solved.

I mistakenly thought that any plasma or lcd TV was new enough to have digital tuners.
