Option Code needed for Philips 50PF7220A/37

    Hello all ~

The set I am repairing (by replacing the SSB) does not have a sticker anywhere on the back or on the back panel that shows me the Option Code or the Screen Diversity Code.

Does anyone have this information, or can lead me to a site on the web that would give me this specific info?

I've looked for a few hours now, and also contacted Philips directly. No dice. I am hoping that someone out there has a Philips 50PF7220A/37 and that these codes are "generic" in the sense that your code will also work in mine.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

I tried that already. But perhaps I am not looking at the proper Service Manual.

          Hello RB123 ~

It is a set of code numbers that allow the SSB to be reconfigured. I bought a replacement SSB and it is being delivered, but I won't be able to complete the repair properly without both a Screen Diversity Code (which I believe is either 027 or 001), and then the Option Code (which is a much longer string of numbers). I will take a picture of an example code sticker and post it here in a minute or two.

Hmm, and your sure all the hardware is working ? Normally on Phillips if the self test fails for example failed piece of hardware it blanks it out.

                  Hello Diah ~

Could you possibly provide a link to the Service Manual you believe it can be found in?

Or, the correct Google Search Term that will lead me there?

                  Thanks.

It is not powering up properly at the moment. So, I cannot attempt to put in any codes at the moment because I am only getting about 4 or 5 seconds of power before the set shuts down.

All of my research and troubleshooting has led me to believe that it is indeed a Small Signal Board (SSB) issue. Found one online for only $22, and when I put that in I am hoping the set will fire up and I can access the screen menus. Then, I will need to put in the Screen Diversity Code first, followed by the Option Code to make it run properly.

Yes, I have tried the Google Image search many times, and the closest I can get is this list (see pic below). But, as you can see, it does not include information from the 50PF7220A/37 model.

                                Hello budm ~

Thanks for the link. I have come across this and while it helped me to conclude that the Screen Diversity Code is most likely 027 for my set (based on my Panel Number), it did not give me the specific Option Code numbers for the 50PF7220A37. I did look through the rest of the ShopJimmy site but could not locate any more detailed Option Code info there for Philips tv's.

Philips Display code are just 5 or 6 over all model, try one by one, don't give attention on size or model

                                  DISPLAY CODE NOT SSB CODE

I don't know how imperative it is going to be to place the Option Code numbers in after I set the Screen Diversity code. It just seems from all of the (albeit limited) information I have been able to find that the two operations need to be made in concert in order to completely and fully reconfigure a new SSB.

The one I recently purchased does not have the exact same Part No. as the one it will be replacing. It would have cost nearly $100 to have them match. But, I am assured through my research that the one that is on its way is a compatible match.

Does anyone know if the Option Code MUST be put into the menu settings in order to make it all work, or will the Screen Diversity Code be enough?

I am not sure what you are referring to, Diah. The Screen Diversity Codes are all clearly three digits long, and the Option Code I am searching for is most likely 8 sets of numbers, with 5 digits in each set.

SSP code you are right , but you describe the fault it goes on for seconds and then turn off, is that correct?

if correct then both display code or ssb code had nothings to do with this fault.

if codes of display wrong, no display at all.
id ssb code empty as nvm cant match it, tv should still on working
