I picked this tv up and someone thought they could fix it by changing the YSUS since it had a tvpartsguy sticker on it. But whomever looked at it missed the obvious. The PSU had a huge crack in it. Before I found the crack the red led on the front would just blink. Now that it's fixed it stays solid and the tv won't turn on. The control board blinks 4 times as soon as I plug the tv in then it goes to a long blink and a short blink over and over again. I don't have Va but I'm assuming it's because the tv won't turn on. Any ideas? Or what the blinks mean?

Re: LG 50PQ10 Broken PSU
No, but this training guide may assist given the PQ10,20,30 share some boards like the Logic.
It suggests if it'sblinking the logic board is most likely ok.
Maybe go the auto-gen where the main is completely disconnected, jumper the auto-gen, plug in and tv should turn on automatically and have test patterns.Attached FilesComment

Re: LG 50PQ10 Broken PSU
I've done lots of trace repairs. TW, I looked at the training manual but it didn't tell me much about the blinks. I posted a pic of the trace repairs and metered them.
EDIT: There is no jumper pins for the gen test. I'll solder some in and post back if I get the pattern.Last edited by dcapper; 02-20-2016, 05:09 PM.Comment

Re: LG 50PQ10 Broken PSU
LVDS cable off and jumper on. No change. Solid red power light, no power, and no test pattern. I metered all the transistors, diodes, and resistors on the psu. I haven't metered the caps yet, but I think there is more with this.Comment

Re: LG 50PQ10 Broken PSU
Hehe. Or is it Lousy Garbage. You and me are Panny guys. I'm going to see if I can bypass the mainboard to get voltages to the Ysus and Xsus. I am not getting my Va or Vs anywhere. I double checked my solder connections and they are fine. I don't see any shorted parts either. I might just buy a new psu. They are actually fairly cheap for this model.
EDIT: Still no voltages with the psu test. There must be more wrong with the psu.Last edited by dcapper; 02-20-2016, 06:45 PM.Comment

Re: LG 50PQ10 Broken PSU
Honestly, I don't remember when I got the tv or how I got it. I just checked the back for it. It's metal and there is no dents. Like I said in an earlier post, someone was tinkering in the tv. The Ysus was replaced for sure. I'm wondering if the old Ysus blew the psu? I'm going to do more in depth metering this week. I'm not getting any voltages besides my 5v. I double checked my solder repair and they are all metering properly.Comment

by clooI recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.
So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...01-06-2025, 06:02 AM -
by EazyBoneI write this to maybe help another with this TV.
So I aquired this TV a 2023 model. It started the 2 blink reboot problem which indicates bad panel. It was still under warranty and the repair man came by.
The Samsung repairman brought a brand new panel and switched my original boards to the new panel. The new panel then had the 2 blink error code. The repair guy said he has seen this and the MAIN board on this model will cause the 2 blink. He then replaced the main/power board (they are both connected) and put it back onto my original panel. Voila it worked.

by chth96When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.
Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.
But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging... -
by VebririonHi everyone,
I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.
Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.
I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report... -
by BiruslapioBought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.
Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner... - Loading...
