    LG 50PQ10 Broken PSU

I picked this tv up and someone thought they could fix it by changing the YSUS since it had a tvpartsguy sticker on it. But whomever looked at it missed the obvious. The PSU had a huge crack in it. Before I found the crack the red led on the front would just blink. Now that it's fixed it stays solid and the tv won't turn on. The control board blinks 4 times as soon as I plug the tv in then it goes to a long blink and a short blink over and over again. I don't have Va but I'm assuming it's because the tv won't turn on. Any ideas? Or what the blinks mean?

No, but this training guide may assist given the PQ10,20,30 share some boards like the Logic.

It suggests if it'sblinking the logic board is most likely ok.

Maybe go the auto-gen where the main is completely disconnected, jumper the auto-gen, plug in and tv should turn on automatically and have test patterns.

I've done lots of trace repairs. TW, I looked at the training manual but it didn't tell me much about the blinks. I posted a pic of the trace repairs and metered them.

EDIT: There is no jumper pins for the gen test. I'll solder some in and post back if I get the pattern.

LVDS cable off and jumper on. No change. Solid red power light, no power, and no test pattern. I metered all the transistors, diodes, and resistors on the psu. I haven't metered the caps yet, but I think there is more with this.

Hehe. Or is it Lousy Garbage. You and me are Panny guys. I'm going to see if I can bypass the mainboard to get voltages to the Ysus and Xsus. I am not getting my Va or Vs anywhere. I double checked my solder connections and they are fine. I don't see any shorted parts either. I might just buy a new psu. They are actually fairly cheap for this model.

EDIT: Still no voltages with the psu test. There must be more wrong with the psu.

Wonder how the PSU got cracked in the first place

Honestly, I don't remember when I got the tv or how I got it. I just checked the back for it. It's metal and there is no dents. Like I said in an earlier post, someone was tinkering in the tv. The Ysus was replaced for sure. I'm wondering if the old Ysus blew the psu? I'm going to do more in depth metering this week. I'm not getting any voltages besides my 5v. I double checked my solder repair and they are all metering properly.
