Would this one be an acceptable one to get?

        Re: Lg 50pm6700 horizontal bands.

Since I had the spare parts, I tried them. I took the Zsus board and the part the is attached to it from the smashed screen and put it in and now the TV works.
So I'm not sure what part exactly was bad. All I know is that for a total of $65 between the two, I inow have a functioning 50pm6700 that is virtually new.

        Thanks for the attempted help.
I'd still like a recommendation on those meters.

get a $15 meter from Harbor Freight or Sears. It will be good enough.

            Re: Lg 50pm6700 horizontal bands.

Well I have a cheap sperry so-6a analog meter. I don't want to get another cheap one and find out later I should have paid more.

The first one I linked to is $22, you are saying that would be more than sufficient? I would like one that can check for bad capacitors, resistors.

For capacitors you really need a capatience meter and esr meter there are some cheap versions on ebay which test these and more.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Physically bending the T-Con board creates horizontal dotted lines on OLED55CXPUA
                  by fredtred
                  Hello!
I have been trying to solve this issue the past 12 months to no avail. I have been a lurker here during that time but finally decided to post my problem and see if anybody knows a solution.

                  Problem
My tv (OLED55CXPUA) has an issue where it displays horizonal lines of dotted artifacts.

                  (See Attachment 1)

                  Self Diagnosing
After a very long troubleshooting period I traced the issue to the T-Con board. If I gently flexed/bend the board I could make the display go from GOOD to BAD and vice versa. I have ruled out the connectors/wires...

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
                  by Hakuu
                  Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.
