SEIKI SE222FS TV does not power on

    Hello everyone,
I have a SEIKI SE222FS TV that does not power on. The LED on the front is lit when plugged in, but does not change when the power button is pushed. There is 12v, 12v, but no BLON on the main board. I have not been able to find the service manual for this TV so I am unsure what else to check. I suspect that the main board is bad, but would like some advice/guidance. I would also appreciate it if someone has the service manual that I can get.
    Thanks in advance

Funny, because I can see clearly BLO written on the backside of the main board. I think on the PSU its called on/off. If you don't see any activity on that pin while turning on the tv, the main board is the problem. You can try checking caps, regulators and freeze the eeprom.

I'm sorry CapLeaker if my 1st post was not clear. I was stating that there is no voltage on the BLO pin on the main board, but there is 12v being supplied to the board on two pins. The BLO is not there when I push the power button.

Ok. Depends on what you want to do now. Replacing the main board or look at things I mentioned earlier.

Thanks CapLeaker for your help. I am not sure what you mean by freeze the eeprom, and I see no swollen caps. Since I cannot get the service manual with the board schematics, I will just replace the main board.

The flash Ic tends to become heatsensative and the firmware on it becomes corrupt meaning the Tv wont come one. You would need the firmware flash and a new Ic which is hard to come across. Easier just to get a new mobo.

By freezing the eeprom I mean: Taking a can of air upside down and spraying the eeprom on the main board until it is frozen, then turn on the TV. I have a 70% success rate identifying a bad eeprom like that.

Thanks to everyone for your input. I am working on this TV for someone else and they determined that this TV is not worth the money required to replace the main board.

Heres a word of warning frezzing the flash Ic's on these does not work but buy measuring the power on outout pin you can see if its failed.
