    Toshiba 50L5300UC no power LED

I have a toshiba lcd tv that has no front power LED. It doesnt turn on, but I get all of my voltages, except the BLON. I get 0v. When the power is turned on the LED stays off and I get nothing on the screen, even with the flashlight test. The customer said the TV will sometimes turn on and work fine, then it will shut down. If its a backlight not turning on, and since the power LED doesnt come on, would that point to a main board issue. I can't find a service manual, I hate working on Toshibas.

There are only 2 boards, a power supply and main board. See pics.

Please report the readings of each pin of the J206 when TV is OFF and when TV power switch is activated, YOU MUST put down the pin names of each pin in your readings.

Here are the voltage reading :

        Pin 1-3 12V2-12.49V
        Pin 6 12VA=12.5V
        Pin 10 5V1=5.14V
        Pin 11 ACD=3.545V
        Pin 12 PWON=3.30V
        Pin 13 BLON=0V
        Pin 14 5V1=5.14V
        Pin 15 DIM=3.23V

Re: Toshiba 50L5300UC no power LED

I think I found the problem on the main board. There is a power distribution IC U15. I get 12.4V at the VIN pin 1, but my EN and VOUT pins are both at 0V. Part number is APL3546A.

This IC controls the voltage for the BLON transistors.

If EN is low, the regulator should be off, so for some reason the main CPU isn't sending the on/off signal.

So it is definitely a main board problem then?

Re: Toshiba 50L5300UC no power LED

'Pin 13 BLON=0V' So the main board is not sending the BL-ON signal to turn on the Backlights circuit.
'I get 12.4V at the VIN pin 1, but my EN and VOUT pins are both at 0V. Part number is APL3546A.

This IC controls the voltage for the BLON transistors.'
So the processor is not sending the signal to EN pin to turn the IC APL3546A on.
So you need to trace out where that EN pin goes to.

I'm having the same issues with my TV. All voltages are similar. Did you ever find a source for a replacement board?

Good morning forum. This laptop comes into my laboratory with the defect that it won't turn on. By connecting the bench power supply I have an absorption of 1.56A (battery charging), I disconnect the battery, I have an absorption of 0.01A. I give the power on but it doesn't react. I check the mainboard and I notice the Isl88732 charger with oxide and a little burnt between pins 7-8. I remove the charger, clean the pads and solder another ISL coming from another identical board. I also find a bit of oxide in the power button connector. I clean the connector, clean the flat that goes to the power...

                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite L50 here and its not powering up.

Bought from guy who has no need of bricked laptop

It would give a Power LED and a Charge LED but press the power on button and nothing not even a fan noise or anything.

Tried removing all hardware still nothing

Left the battery on charge all day, the next day it was only reading 3 volts.

Removed battery and still not even a power or charge indicator.

                          Mains charger giving 19 volt

Can some one suggest how to fix it , I have swapped power packs
