My plasma TV just stopped working while my wife and I were watching a movie a couple weeks ago. I plug it in, the relays click on, then off, no picture, and the red LED in the front flashes 10 times. I hold the power button in for about 20 seconds, the relays click on, then off, no picture, 10 blinks again. I took the back off and did some poking around with my DMM. I really don't know what I should be looking for. I found this site in my search for a solution. I did test for continuity and shorts, but no voltage tests with the power plugged in or turned on. The only thing I could find was the 681 varistor at the bottom of the power board was bulging and I got no continuity or voltage reading from any combo of the lugs. I went ahead and ordered a bag of 20 from China after the best electronics counter in town didn't have any, and then this morning I came back here to see if this board was back up. I found an actual picture of a refurb power board last night and it looks like both of the varistors on that board are bulging, but I'm thinking that it's not the problem at all. I could not find a thermal fuse in the transformers (like one youtube video suggested) and I got continuity through all the lugs.

So where do I begin? We have a Samsung replacement, but we like the picture and sound of the Panasonic much better. I don't want to pay $100 for a board that may not work, and I really don't have money to but a crappy new TV or pay the price of a new TV to fix this one. I know I can do this! I fixed our Sony Wega - lamp and better transformer 4 years ago (and sold it). Please help.
Thank You.
