    Panasonic TCP50VT25 Audio

Set has been working flawlessly since repair of su/sd/sc boards. When trying to play an MP4 movie, got the message "on screen audio not compatible". I have no audio period since that message displayed.
Video is clear as a bell channels change quickly..just no audio.
Unplugged from AC power for 15 min...still no audio.
    Any ideas??

    TIA

Unplugged the mp4 source? Remove all equipment like amplifier/soundbar etc so you just have the tv only.

Tried to restore to factory settings?
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

weird, I wonder if there is an option in your setup r if it's disabled somehing? May have to try a reset and see what happens.

According to the tech serv manual..even if speakers go bad or wire pinched..should go off on a protection fault. The fact that I have video means all hardware checks out. going to power down for an hour then try factory reset.

This is weird..In Advanced Audio settings, input for HDMI1 was changed to Component instead of Digital..changed back to Digital and sound returns. CPU must have changed it...tried it again on same file...changed again. Wow!

was interesting. I was thinking along the line of it changing something although never come across this before. Glad it's sorted , sure to help someone down the track

Well, according to all I found in tech serv manual, if it has video, it's not hardware..bad speaker, pinched wire, or bad IC will trigger protection fault with blink code.
