    Polaroid Plasma Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, been piddling on LCD TVs for a while and decided to dive into a plasma. Picked it up for $45 polaroid pla 4248 don't know any history on it. When powered on it turns on and the screen flips out red and some green if you are changing channels if it left alone on one channel it is a white screen with a few lines going horizontal. I would assume a buffer board is a causig the lines but I do believe there is more involved. All of the boards have cool heatsinks except the one on the y sustain board it gets warm while the others are cool. I wonder if it is something wrong with the y sustain and it took out the y drive(buffer). Any thoughts, thanks in advance.

this is not my video or brand but this is exactly what mine is doing. And I say that but everything in the tv is branded LG.

    Re: Polaroid Plasma Troubleshooting

Also already took out all the boards and soldered a bunch legs and transistors, capacitor legs, etc to see if it was a bad connection but its not it didnt make a difference. all the capacitors look good, dont see any burnt marks or chips anywhere tv is not throwing any codes and it doesnt shut down on its own and will respond to the buttons but i cant see the menu or anything.

LG 50PJ350 plasma blowing Y-Sustain board
      by Keshenatech1
Hi, I was wondering if there's anyone here with experience on the LG50PJ350 plasma or similar models? When it came in, it had 7 shorted mosfet outputs on the Y-sustain board, Q02, 04,11, 22, 24, 26, and 28 were all dead shorted. I replaced them with the exact same type, checked their surrounding area for other open and shorted components and didn't see any further problems. But as soon as I hit the power button on the remote, I had a loud Pop! and Q22, 24, 26, and 28 are shorted out again. The other 3 seem to have survived. Someone on another forum had suggested the possibility of a shorted panel....

practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards
      by blues_spirit
      Hello from France,
mon2 kindly advised me to post a thread to ask the question(s) I'm concerned about. I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for practical courses for troubleshooting pc motherboards especially laptops in Europe, if possible in France. I have been a computer network system administrator and a corrector of administration modules for automated programs under Unix. But I really miss the practical "ops" side of troubleshooting. So I would like to start from the beginning: 1.8V, 3.3V, 5V and 19V tests for example, etc...
Do you think this is feasible for me? I...

      LG 50PA4500 Plasma Troubleshooting
      by brassicGamer
Hi folks. This panel seems to be a 'favourite' on these forums. I've checked through all the existing posts and my issue doesn't match up with the common faults described. I think it might be the logic board.

I acquired it second-hand recently and the previous owner described the panel working fine until a power cut, when it only turned back on briefly. The apparent issue was that, when powered on, the TV would display the manufacturer logo and then go into standby mode. I figured this was the main board shutting it down after a test condition failed.

      I checked the...

      Troubleshooting LG Plasma
      by DanFen
      Hi everyone

I bought a non-working 50" PG Plasma for real cheap, just for some fun and hopefully some learning. My background is technical IT, and in fact it's the first time troubleshooting a TV.

Problem: Power LED turns on, then off after a second or two.

So I've started with identifying and familiarising myself with the boards. Tested PSU OK. Visual inspection for burnt down components, or bulged caps... all looks fine. TV is however very dirty as it was in a restaurant, so it's difficult to identify burnt components.

      Since...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
      by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.
