M420VT will not Power on.. Solved Mainboard

I Just wanted to make this post since i couldn't find this model on the forum. hope this will help someone.

    Model: M420VT
    Main Board P/N:CBPFTQACB2K010

Symptom:Will not power on; 5VSB low only when attached to Mainboard; Vizio Logo goes from a dim white to brighter white then goes dim again.

    Fault: Audio Amp IC (U602) P/N: STA339BW ($5ea @ UTSource.net)

I found out that this part was the problem when the board i purchased from ebay would power up, but had no sound. Upon inspecting the ebay board i noticed the audio amp was burned. I decided to pull the amp off my old board and install it on the new one and got the exact same symptoms.

Also... The vizio logo on this modelis white. it does not turn amber.

Re: M420VT will not Power on.. Solved Mainboard

I have the same model. M420VT works fine 90% of time.. occasionally (sometimes once a week, other times several times a night) it shuts off. I turn it back on, and back to normal. Audio does seem funky, but not bad.
When I contacted Vizio about this.. they wanted to troubleshoot.. so they asked me to do a "System Reset", going to "Help" reset and erase all settings. I attempted that, gives me a confirmation on the screen asking if I indeed want to erase it all.. I say yes.. nothing happens.. the windows goes away, the system goes on playing the current channel.. for that.. they say I need a technician.. Any suggestions?

On Vizo I remember if the remote control is not the original to the TV then it will not have a green color button which actually resets the TV. It has been a year since I repair a Vizo so it is an old memory.

Does anyone have experience with the M420VT? An update to my earlier description, it doesn't seem to shut off, but the backlight turns off! Audio still keeps going. I shut it down, then turn back on, and it's happy again.

102mm - do you know if the TV will power up with the audio IC removed?

I have the exact same issue and would like to confirm before going to deap.

          Thanks

Yes, the set powered up when i removed the chip. It's still running fine today after replacing it.

I would try to heat up the BGA chip with a heat blower,as this model is famous for main board cold solders on the BGA chip,

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                by PantherDave
                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
                by GLISIT
                Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

                No standby red light, nothing
This Sony has a separate AC->DC power adapter supplying 19.5V to the TV power board (JK3)

Disconnected JK3 power board from main board, checked voltages on all the pin outs

At a few pins I can see the power supply providing 19.5V to the main board

Based on the service manual triage.. it seems to be pointing towards the power board (JK3) being the most possible culprit

LED light turns on when I disconnect LED driver board ribbon from mainboard (so i thought it is the mainboard,...
