Samsung PN51E6500EF Replaced logic and XYM board, no love...

This TV has me stumped. Initially it just started powering on and off constantly. I figured (had some issues previously and most of the HDMI ports had failed) that was the logic board (BN94-04644C/97-05181C) and replaced it. That fixed the power on/off problem. The green LED blinks once per second, etc.

Unfortunately the display came up all distorted and strange. After a second or two it would fade to almost black to the point where the setup menu (from the new logic board) wasn't legible. After a good bit of reading it appeared that was caused by a bad X sustain. This TV seems to have one integrated board for X and Y so I replaced it (51EHF_XYM).

That board went in well but the situation is basically the same. The display stays a little brighter for a little longer, but the menu's still aren't legible. I've attached multiple pictures of the boards and what the display looks like. That's my computer desktop that's supposed to be on the display BTW.

Initially I did search for bad capacitors and any obvious problems. None found. The power supply tests out perfect from it's two test points. I also tested the XYM test points (two, vscan and Ve I think). I had to slightly adjust the vscan to match the sticker on the TV but otherwise everything was perfect.

    Help, I'm stumped...

Looks like mainboard, have you run the test patterns ?

I have not. Any advice on how to do that? I've read a couple of different things and not sure which one to proceed with.

Was able to figure it out today and the test patterns look perfect. Next step is to find another main board right?

Thanks for all the help. Was able to return the bad main board and get another. Popped that in this evening, fired it up, and was watching TV soon after.

Wife is a happy camper. :-)

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
              by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

LG 60PK550 Logic Control Board EBR63450301
              by Yanleb
Hi all, I just want to share the repair of my 60PK550-UA TV set.

The TV set was powering on, just no image. After verification, nothing wrong on the YSus or ZSus boards. Nothing wrong on the main board either.

But I noticed that the LED was not flashing on the Logic Control Board. This is an EBR63450301. The LED is supposed to flash even with all the flat cables disconnected, with only the power cable attached.

All the voltages measured at the electrolytic capacitors on the board were good. From top left to bottom right:
              C57: 3.30V
              C61:...

Will I have a bricked logic board after reflow of the GPU v-core U8900 chip on my Mid-2012 15" Retina Macbook pro?
              by korben_dallas
Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).

I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.

I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.

              MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...
