Samsung plasma tv has vertical stripes

Hi, I just got a 50" Samsung plasma TV for free, but it has a 2 1/2 wide band of color going down the screen. Model number PN50A450P1D. Since a pic is worth a thousand words, and a video worth a thousand pics here's a video for those who know about these TVs.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

That fault could be a tcon board issue, or a bad plasma panel.

Well, I took the set apart and was looking around, and I think I might have found the problem. The video shows a vertical stripe going up the screen, right? well, I noticed the long thin boards at the bottom of the display, and the ribbon cables going from these boards to the glass. I placed the set on 2 pillows so I could work on it, and I turned it on wile it was face down. I then noticed the stripe was centered on one of the ribbon cables. These boards do not appear to be removable. To make things worse, I also noticed small ICs attached to the middle of the ribbon cables. If my educated guessing is correct, the TV is FUBAR, since I cannot replace the boards nor the ICs, unless I am missing something.

I am probably going to part this TV out on eBay since it is not repairable. If there is a particular part any of you want, please reply.

There is a fair chance this is a simple panel failure, however the repetitive nature of the fault makes me suspect something like a loose or damaged ribbon cable or a faulty t-con board.
These TVs are very prone to panel failures, but you could be lucky and it might not be a panel fault.

If it is the t-con board, is it possible to connect the cable for the right half of the pdp to the left t-con output? The cables appear to be identical, and the left side functions perfectly. I don't want to spend $40 dollars and find out that the pdp is what's broke. Side note: I unplugged the long board running across the bottom of the pdp, and the right side was covered in randomly appearing lines. I don't remember if the original lines were there or not, leaning toward not. Thanks!

Ok, I got a chance to play around with it more, and it may be the t-con board. I unplugged the ribbon cable going from the t-con board to the board across the bottom of the screen, and the right side of the TV displayed faint static with no stripe... could that be indication of where the fault is? Also, I hooked everything back up and unhooked the LVDS cable (the one going from t-con to the motherboard, right?) and the TV displayed the stripe on a black background. What's weird is the stripe goes from color to a series of red lines every 1/8 inch or so after the TV has been on for a second.
