And a good day for it as well, wasn't it Black Friday last year when thousands of muppets were fighting over supermarket TV's that were barely worth their sale price?

Yep all of them are trash, people think they are buying a good Tv from a repeatable manufacture. When the reality is they are buying supermarket generic trash

Watched a video where someone said exactly that - probably one of yours come to think of it! As soon as someone sees something like "LED" "TV" and any name they wrongly take to mean high quality (Hitachi, Polaroid, Blaupunkt, Wharfdale, Toshiba, Apple) and it's snapped up

Even though these are heaps of trash people seem to snatch them up, over the last two weeks I have sold two Vestel Led Tvs with out even having to advertise them haha

More than welcome if you like £20 plus postage (will have to work that out) and I'll throw in the Polaroid mainboard too, looks like you're a glutton for punishment!

No worries, thanks for looking. I did indeed see that one but didn't fancy dropping twice the worth of the telly on a mainboard I'll probably just flog it as spares/repair and let some other poor fool worry!

Uber, thanks I'd heard that, and couldn't seem to find anything for Hitachi - plenty around for generic Vestel kit and other related brands like Toshiba but not for this. I have an "identical" Vestel mainboard which I believe is a Polaroid variant; doesn't even try to power up with that in, but can't say I'm surprised as I imagine they use different panels etc.

Hitachi 32HXC01 - another Vestel joke

I've inherited this Hitachi set faulty, and it's blinking the standby light - it turns on, power LED flashes and then turns off. Panel appears to be OK, it lights up and the Hitachi logo appears before it powers off. I've checked as much as I can, bearing in mind I'm merely a hobbyist with minimal equipment and can't see anything obvious. Annoyingly it's a pain in the backside to get to the double row of connections between the psu and mainboard.

Pics below as well as a vid showing the blinking in case the code is useful - it doesn't show the Hitachi logo coming up as the LCD cable was disconnected.
I've tried it with the backlights disconnected, speakers disconnected and it made no difference. Diodes all appear to be OK as that seems to be a common fault and all capacitors physically look OK.

I don't like replacing PSU's as they're usually a bit easier to diagnose and the mainboards for these are either ruddy expensive or hard to come by, even in smashed TV sets. I suspect people more often than not hurl these straight into skips where they belong! I just don't like giving up

    Any help gratefully received!

Hitachi (Vestel) TV is not turning on
    by Askic
    Hello guys,

I have 32 inch Hitachi TV with Vestel PSU board 17IPS71. Tv was working normally and I shut it down normally via remote control.
The next morning it couldn't turn ON neither with remote controller or via button on the logic board.
There is a red standby LED ON, so it is not dead totally.
I have examined the PSU board and I cannot find find any traces of blown components or bulged caps. Electrolytic caps are manufactured by Elite.
I also check diodes and big MOSFET (with cooler/heatsink). It seems OK.

Can you tell me based on...

Hitachi 43HAE4251 - Vestel 17MB171 - Displays logo and reboots
    by EnricoS92
    Hello,

I have a problem with this tv Hitachi with vestel 17MB171 board.

I turned off a couple days ago and the next morning when I turned on it had the issue, i tried to left the power unplugged for several hours but nothing.

The tv turns on shows the logo picture and after a few seconds reboots, and start over again.

I was able to connect via uart to the tv and grab the log I attached, it has logged 3 reboots.

I believe it is a corrupted software, but I could not find any online, does anyone has it, or where to download....

Vestel tv, how to flip the image?
    by France_53
Hello everyone from Italy, I'm here to ask for help on a Vestel TV, I've had a Vestel TV branded "XD" with a broken screen for years, but now I've found a Telefunken (still Vestel but older) and I've mounted the panel on the "XD" TV, it works, but the screen is upside down, given that Vestel does not allow you to rotate the image from the service menu, does anyone know how to solve the problem? the original panel is marked ves315WNDS-2D-N12 while the main board 17mb110, the panel I mounted instead in the tv (from the telefunken) is a ves315WNDA-02. ... It is not worth repairing...

Hitachi 55" TV dead after 18 months (Vestel 17MB100)
    by Ruptor
I couldn't find any other thread that matches my TV problem but have been told it is a common fault. The fault is a flashing LED as if it is in upgrade mode that happens after a few seconds and stays forever. I can't remember all the tricks that have been tried like holding the select button when powering on but nothing worked. The shop sent me a flash drive to plug in a USB port but that did nothing either and they said it was dead which is disgusting for a piece of solid state electronics. I took the back off eventually after removing 34 screws to check for blown caps but everything looks new...
