Looks like the SD is bad?
yeah, maybe. I can only go by what you report. have you tried direct at the connector SD42 pin6?

i really don't understand what you are trying to measure with Vfg? What do you mean no reading with respect to what?

Simply Vfg is the base(gnd) and other probe each other as indicated on the boards

I just picked up a SC board from the same model TV on eBay for $120 and its local so I'm going to pick it up tomorrow.

As long as it tests good with the buffers disconnected and SC50 jumped then I should be able to use it for troubleshooting this board am I correct in thinking this?

Seems that I was just overthinking here. Thought I was supposed to test between VF-GND (Pin 9) and the VF-GND point where the screw was removed.

Also I removed the buffers and measured with them removed, they seem to test good. I edited my previous post with the new readings.

Yes but I've pretty much know what needs replacing on this but handy to have one to compare. If you vary brands of parts used e.g. the voltage regs then you can see resistance differences.

When you get the SC, I'd check Q661 first and see if it's shorted. If it is then you don't even have to apply power.

If that's the case I'll just bring my meter with me test it right there it the guy's shop when I pick it up.

Well if it's pickup then I guess chances are it's ok. What shop? Is it a rebuilt board? Ebay ID ?

yeah, that's reasonable given their scarcity now. I have 5 Sc and 5 sets of buffers for my 50". Still waiting for the Sc board to fail again since replaced. original lasted about 2-2500hrs. I have about 11000hrs up now.

Unless the panel dies I have it well and truly covered with spares of all the other boards too.

That's funny. I do the same thing too. I have a Samsung PN64E8000 in the living and a complete TV with a cracked panel for parts if anything in the TV fails.

I got the one in the living room for $100, had a blown fuse on the PSU replaced it nothing else wrong.

Picked up the SC board today everything good Q661 test ok SC50 jumped with buffers unplugged no blink codes.

Picture quality is pretty damn good on this thing I'd say. Reds seem a little over saturated.

Waiting for a colorimeter to arrive in the mail, see what those are all about.

Great, must be that efficient fault finding. Now you can present yourself with the rebuild challenge.
