Hitachi Plasma TV P42T501 Factory Reset
So I've got a Plasma TV that won't accept any inputs... it turns on but won't show anything at all. If I leave it unplugged for a week it resets and works again once I turn it on - but the next time I turn it off/on I have the same issue. I've tried upgrading it to newer firmware with an MMC card but the upgrade fails every time.
So finally, I'm trying to do a factory reset, which is what the service manual says to do if the upgrade doesn't work. I found that I can get to the "Adjustment Mode" by hitting Menu+Menu+8+Select. Selecting FACT RESET flashes a few colors, then finishes on green as its supposed to. When I unplug/replug in the AC cord as the service manual says, nothing has happened. Nothing was reset. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
