Okay that was easier than I thought. Here's what I did...see attached image. The gauge wire is really thin so just having it tinned made for a good pin-connector on the female side of the connector. So in effect the P801 LED+/- connections are now swapped.
I wanted you to see this to warn me of any issues before I apply any power and test.

That eliminated backligts flicker, it is more of the screen flicker problem then and it is going to be tough to narrow it down, at this point I suspect the panel to be the problem.Never stop learning

This is from my son’s gaming computer that at first had minor overheating issues when playing a very intense game with it causing the computer to crash or reboot
Then bough a new motherboard and a new computer case that a cooling system in it already installed also brought the cooling system for this video card but now the issue with it is that it randomly rebooted screen goes blank randomly and suddenly video freezing or started with video being there then blank screen and then the video comes back or it just stays blank for a while and then maybe it will come back but it... -

I kindly ask for help with Thinkpad BIOS/ME repair.
Thinkpad W541 board bought from Aliexpress, so I have no service tag nor S/N. It is 1GB version Q1 (K1100 nVidia GPU). BIOS 2.23, EC 1.13, ME 9.1.32.1002.
It worked fine until I tried to remove whitelist.
Steps taken:
- battery out, CMOS coin cell out, laptop disassembled; I kept LAN/USB subboard connected
- i took SPI programmer (CH341A with 3.3V mod) and SOIC clip and did a full backup of all SPI flash chips (SPI1 and SPI2 - BIOS, EC, ME, GbE; SPI3 - video BIOS; SPI4 - Thunderbolt fw) for several... -
Issue: LG 60LA8600-UC Turns On, Turns Off 2 Seconds Later. No Video.
Solution: Main Board EBT62529302 had L7201 & Q2302 visibly blown. Tried to replace these 2 parts from a similar LG board, TV would turn on and show no video. Replacement unavailable and who knows if the panel is damaged. TV will be recycled.
