Re: Still clicking after replacing eeprom Samsung LE40M87BDX

Just to add my five peneth,The Samsung I encountered did not have any bulging caps as seen in many forums, all the caps were replaced as a mater of course, still relay clicking, I then checked the 10uf and 47uf on the power board they all showed very high ESR one was completely OC, so all caps replaced on power board, still clicking relay, I then noticed there were horizontal flashes between relay switching on and off, looking on the mother board for any clues I noticed a charing of two smd resistors R1131 R1132 68ohm, when replaced with temporary 33 ohm resistor the horizontal flashing stopped, only to be followed with a cloud of smoke from the resistor, the cause of the problem was C1102 a 1uf smd was intermittent S/C , when this was replaced everything returned to normal, good picture no relay tripping, the set was left running for about 4 hours no problem, so it was reassembled and left running, then it started tripping again every 20 seconds, I removed the can on the processor and checked all of the caps in the can, all were perfectly OK, I then started to check the ESR of the other caps on the main board and found several 100uf with no ESR at all these were replaced still the problem persisted I then checked the 4.7uf near the crystal in the middle of the panel this one had a ESR of 1.2k it was replaced and so far so good.

I had many times C1110 and C1177 with high esr and low capacitance.

Hi, old thread I know but very current for my TV fault. You say you replaced with normal caps, that is 2x 1000uf at 10v electrolytic ?

Would 2x 1000uf 25v electrolytic be okay if so, or stick to 10v?

        Many thanks!

          25v volts will be fine

              93C46 and 93C56 EEPROM
              by SidneyCanadas
I tore apart my instrument cluster for my 2008 Toyota Corolla made in 2007 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and pcb location: IC6=EEPROM is a surface mounted device with part # of 93C46W7, some claim the EEPROM out of a Camry part # 93C56 will allow odometer to roll over 299 999 KM or miles. The data sheet for both is below:

              https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...c6e42b20d3.pdf 2

Anyone know if the Camry one will work on my Corolla?. And which EEPROM reader/writers do you all recommend I purchase that will allow me to read the old values of the old...

Onkyo-593 No power and now clicking sound
              by Sisko
              Hi all!!

Ok just got a Onkyo SKW-593 sub woofer that has no power person told me that it smoked and that his GF let the volume full when she powered off the amp and when he came to turn it on the sub played but then suddenly smoke was coming out, didn't say from where. So opened it up and saw a resistor made of metal (pic) but can't see any writing on metal par so what ever was written on it was burnt. So I'm kinda stuck here with this. I did ask for a repair or schematics in the other group section and waiting for this but I hope someone here might lend me a hand to try and identify...

Pioneer DEX-P99rs "No EEProm " diagnostic code.
              by dmccul2698
Hello, My head unit developed strange behaviors so I ran the built-in diagnostic package which returned "No EEProm". The service manual says there is no EEProm connected. I approached Pioneer and they said to swap out the DSP board. All said and good but the DSP board is $860 USD. I am hoping someone can help me

1). Understand the schematic and check the connections between the EEProm and DSP
2). Check the functionality of the EEProm

I don't know if this is the unit's problem but it's a place to start.

I have little to no electronic experience...

Samsung UE49KS7000SXXH - fast clicking sound in standby mode

              PSU - BN44-00878A

              Symptoms:

The TV turned itself off, and I haven't been able to turn it back on. The standby voltage was unstable and lower than it should be.
A weak clicking sound was coming from the transformer.

              Video with clicking sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAduhjNtqCA

              Progress:

After the transformer, I measured four Schottky diodes. DM862C and DM864C diodes readings were 003 in both directions. After detaching them from the circuit and measuring them, DM864C was the shorted one. These Schottky diodes are SB550.I...

Damaged EEPROM on TV Vizio E320-A0
              by edgarmg15
              Hi everyone

I´m trying to repair a TV Vizio E320-A0 that I found in the street

The symptoms are it doesn't respond with remote or buttons, the LED indicator is always off and also there is no image on the TV.

The power supply board works fine (I probed the terminals with my multimeter) but in the main board the EEPROM doesn't works correctly because the voltage on the pins doesn't match with the parameters of the datasheet.

So, I´m going to replace the EEPROM with a new one, but the problem is that my programmer (CH341a)...
