Re: JVC JLC42BC3000 screen froze on "JVC" logo.
I found one for sale-
https://secure.m.newegg.com/ShoppingCart
Is it a simple de solder and re solder? How do I program the nand flash? Thank you!

Re: JVC JLC42BC3000 screen froze on "JVC" logo.
ISTM that the NAND flash IC would contain the firmware for the TV. Therefore you would need to copy its contents.
If the problem is indeed the flash IC, then ISTM that it may be affected by bad blocks. One way to recover from this would be to update the firmware, but that would require access to a factory utility.
Edit: AISI, the NAND flash contents would be copied to SDRAM at bootup, and program control would then be transferred to the code in SDRAM. The SoC would not need to access the NAND flash again until the next boot. This means that the TV should keep running without issue after it has booted. If this is indeed what is happening, then that would point to the flash as the culprit.Leave a comment:

Re: JVC JLC42BC3000 screen froze on "JVC" logo.
Thanks, I'm doing my best to try and only cool the Nand flash. I taped the surroundings off but i'm sure its not 100% pin point. If I purchase a Nand flash is it a simple re-install or do I need to load it somehow with info? Sorry I'm very new to electronics.Leave a comment:

Nand Flash.
Were you able to do pin point cooling?Leave a comment:

Re: JVC JLC42BC3000 screen froze on "JVC" logo.
Usually the bad cap will have high ESR when it is cooled and the ESR will go lower when it is heated up.
So right now it is a matter of pin pointing the bad part/s which is not easy when the board is crowded with parts.
There are parts on the bottom side of the board also.Leave a comment:

Thanks, I've isolated and sprayed U18 with no luck. Im very new to this and am not sure what the IC is. Could it be a bad SMD capacitor reacting to the cold?Leave a comment:

U18 (80-PIN IC), what is the P/N as printed on the top of the IC?
CE39 is the SMD lytics cap.Leave a comment:

I wonder if the HDMI chip is locking up the processor. How hot does the chip get?Leave a comment:

Re: JVC JLC42BC3000 screen froze on "JVC" logo.
an eeprom MAY work again if cooled good enough. That trick doesn't work on every eeprom, but it does work on a large percentage. You can apply that trick too on a bad eeprom that you want to read out and then program a new eeprom with the retrieved data. So you don't need to go ".bin" hunting.

Re: JVC JLC42BC3000 screen froze on "JVC" logo.
Your on to something! I first tried freezing the eeproms (or what I think are the eeproms) and no luck so in frustration I sprayed the entire board plugged it in and the logo went away and it went on to "no signal" and worked perfectly. I used the power off button and it turned off normally. No again it is stuck on the Jvc logo. I tried to isolate the problem by freezing in sections and trying to turn it on but no luck. What could this mean? Thanks!Leave a comment:

try to freeze the eeprom (can of air upside down) and turn the TV on. See what happens...Leave a comment:

I was able to talk to Ablemantv but as suspected this is how they make a living and he is not willing to tell me the solution. Also they do not sell an eeprom for this tv. I really don't want to give up but Im running out of options..Leave a comment:

not that i know of? they store user data etc, so come pre programmed etc although some times you can re programme them yourself.Leave a comment:

by abajorHaving this very weird issue.
The owner of this laptop complained about screen being intermittent when opening and closing, and has been using the laptop on a thunderbolt video connection since the screen failed.
I swapped with a working screen from an A2141 waiting for parts.
The Os exhibits this weird behavior where it boots to to 1/3 the status bar, then it makes the boop sound. It's at the log in but for whatever reason the desktop isn't loaded.
The laptop boots fine into recovery mode. I updated from Monterey to Sonoma and the laptop still has... -
by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
Hi,
Found an Funai 32FL553P/10 TV on sale for cheap listed as broken, so I decided to give a shot at reparing this.
State I got it in:
Squealing from the PSU
After logo I get a blank screen
After 10 seconds of having a blank display w/ backlight the TV dies
Give it 7-10ish seconds again and it starts to bootloop.
What I did so far:
Replaced all the caps on the PSU (apart from primaries, they were fine and none at hand)
Checked all voltage rails:
5VSB - 4.8V
AMP+13V - 14.4V
13V - 12.98V (in manual 12V)... -
by YolojaysHello everybody,
I cleared the Bios password on a HP ZBook 15u G3 Laptop (i5-6200U) using HPUnlocker tool. My question is, the laptop has a Custom Boot Logo and can't find a way to restore it to the original HP logo. Anyone by chance know a way to do it?
What I tried and checked:
-No custom logo option in bios
-updating the bios did not help
-Hp client management library method id not work
-ereplogo utility di not work
Thanks in advanced....-
