Tv has intermittent vertical colored lines. (All the way across the screen) Can slap back of TV and some times it will play for several hours and do it again. Any help will be appreciated.

I would try the LVDS Cable first.
If it covers the menu as well, evaluate the main or t-con.Comment

You say "vertical" then you say "across" which can only be if the lines cover the entire screen ???
