    Samsung pn51d550c1fxza bad picture

    I picked this up for $20.

    Picture is really messed up on the left hand side of the panel.

    I've tried unplugging various ribbon cables from the TCON and seeing what happens.

    All I get it either one side is white with vertical black and white lines of the opposite side or vertical multicolored lines across the whole panel.

    Any thoughts? Bad panel, bad TCON?

      eH, I put the wrong model number in the thread title, this TV is a Samsung LN52A850S1F

              Is the screen on the left sluggish to respond? Flex the screen or give it a few good squeezes on the left side. I think tab bonds.

                      yea seems sluggish on the left side. part of the right side is ghosting onto the left side.

                      I've had the TV running for a few hours and the picture cleared up the right side looks great but the left side still sluggish.

                      flexing the left side sometimes causes vertical and or horizontal colored lines.

                              If only one side is affected by the distortion consider some "tab surgery" to give the TV more life. (NOTE: May kill TV completely, may only work for a few hours, not reversible if you screw it up or it doesn't work, BUT it does fix some sets which have gate tabs on both left and right of the panel.) https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...t=48477&page=7

                                  probably just going to sell the parts, I have plenty of working TVs and I don't feel right selling one to someone that is highly possible that it might fail soon after if I were to do some type of repair / surgery to the tabs.

                                  I have been following that thread though and it's quite interesting and something I would definitely try myself if I had a really nice TV that I would like to use myself until it failed.

                                      Yea, that's exactly my feeling - I couldn't sell one of those that I modded myself. I'd feel bad. I could only keep one for myself. And I've no space for a 50"+ LCD...

                                          Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture

                                          Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                                          - sound and backlight, but no picture
                                          - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                                          - it keeps rebooting
                                          - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                                          - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                                          - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                                          - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

                                          i have a samsung lcd tv

                                          it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture

                                          all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v

                                          whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v

                                          i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue

                                          no 12v at the tcon fuse

                                          i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse

                                          the odds of having 2...

                                          Hello all ~

                                          Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

                                          When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

                                          I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

                                          My Samsung UE75TU7020k lights up fine when one of the ribbon cables are disconnected from the main board, lights stay on but not getting half a picture, I do the same with the other ribbon and put the other one in and lights stay on but not getting half a picture. The standby light flashes 2 times then reboots then it then tries to come back on again and just keeps looping until I take either one of the ribbon tables out (doesn’t matter which one I take out it stays lit when either one is out). I’ve tested the backlights but all working with none shorting out, I’ve replaced the main board...
