Samsung 50 fp-t5084. Vertical bars on edges.

Hello everybody! I acquired a non working Samsung fp-t5084 plasma.

It would click incessantly trying to turn on. Upon opening her, one capacitor was clearly bulging, I replaced JUST that one (10v 2200uf) with a 16v 2200uf. The TV fired right up! GREAT..

Now I see another issue, 2 vertical color ridden, pixelated bars about 3/4" wide on both outside edges of the screen. The Image is still slightly visible through the pixelation. The rest of the screen looks pretty great!

I've checked out a few voltages on the PS and everything tested so far seems to be in spec.

I know this can be a dead panel, but I have a feeling it's a loose connector or something minor. Any and all help is appreciated.

This is almost certainly a bad panel.
You could try reseating the connection on the lower f-buffers.

Could The Buffer board be faulty? Would that be the only way to narrow down the health of the panel?

I was under the impression that panel faults are usually static, and single color? These bars are rather static, but they are 'sparkly' and still showing an image behind the distortion?? any other diagnosis I can do?

I’ve just picked up a Samsung PN51F5300 with the exact same issue? Did you ever isolate the problem? I also am hoping it’s something as easy as reseating the connector or a bad driver panel. Haven’t opened it up yet but intend to do so today.

Anyone have any other thoughts on this thread? Vertical pixelation that is multi-colored and not static but “sparkly”, just as described above. Thanks.

Either a bad panel, or control board but most likely panel let's see a picture of this fault.

Usually lines that don't have any cross hatch pattern inside of them or just single lines or multiple single lines sporadic that's usually a panel if it's a quadrant or a bar that is discolored or translucent usually control board.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

            Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA vertical bars/horizontal lines
            by x_orange90_x
I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
            by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN - vertical and horizontal stripes across the screen
            by kotel studios
            Hi,

Just now my Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN monitor gave up on me. On cold boots I get many vertical stripes going across the screen (see the attached picture). After it runs for 1-2 minutes those go away but there are horizontal stripes going across the whole screen no matter of the input and PCs I use. (couldn't take an picture of it since the image size goes to 20MB and the camera doesn't pick them up)

In a video about a 27" monitor with an similar issue the guy removes one resistor and supposedly the entire monitor goes back to life? For sure this fix is only temporary....

Samsung Plasma Intermittent Vertical Bars (repeatable) PN50B430
            by JesusJones
Trash picked this plasma for parts and found it had some bad solder joints. It powered on after reworking most of the boards and seems like it may even work.

The symptoms is, when showing a picture of bright (mostly white) intensity (within the affected area only) a vertical strip 2 3/4" wide will begin to fuzz out (just to the right of samsung logo, 16 3/8" from screen edge), and soon turns black (from top to bottom). Changing to a darker scene immediatley ater will cause the black stripe to fade back in (it fuzzes and clears up again) and it starts working just fine....
