Samsung Un55d6000sfxza swapped mainboard worked for 3 weeks. Bad tcon Or faulty part?

Ok, so i got this tv of craigslist. Symptoms were no power at all, no relay clicking, lights flashing, nothing. Isolated it to the mainboard as unplugging the led strip did nothing, however unplugging the main caused it to turn on with the backlights operating. Ordered a new main and it fired right up, only issue was an incorrectly displayed model number. Fixed that in service menu but nticed it said panel self test failed?? Tried repeatedly to self test, said failed every time.
2 days ago turn tv off and when i try to turn it back on i notice no power led, take it off the wall and remove the main board, fires up to a blank screen again. Notified the seller who told me a bad tcon could kill the main. If it was the tcon would a new main have fixed it temporarily? Or did i just get a defective part?

So to clarify you bought a mainboard for a TV that wasn't originally for your TV.
You've then went into service mode and changed the settings.

I doubt that the tcon has damaged the mainboard, but to seek a refund from a seller who sold you a working board that you have knowingly tampered with is a bit cheeky.

No, i bought a mainboard thats compatible with my model number but was pulled from a 46" d series. There's several different board versions that are interchangeable with each other. I did not simply buy the wrong board and attempt to make it work. The thread i posted on this is here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=46736
The fact that it worked for almost a month after changing the listed panel size (which is a menu option with several choices for this main and not just manually altering values in the service menu) leads me to believe the two are unrelated. The seller believed that perhaps my tcon was bad and not the main. Thats why i was curious if it would have worked after installing a new mainboard, if in fact the tcon was the issue.
I should also note that when i Recieved the board the package looked like it had been run thru a sorting machine that perhaps squished it as there was a slight, but noticeable bend in the board. I informed the seller of this and was told he did not have a replacement board. He asked me to check it for functionality before i returned it, when it appeared to be working i believed it was fine.
