BUSH 50" (samsung) BPDP50FHD Plasma no picture

Have the following 50" BUSH (Re-branded Samsung) BPDP50FHD
    made in march 2010.

Initial fault was Stuck in stand by, Turns on for 2 secs then would shut down
This was traced to 3 shorted 30F02 transistors on the X-Main board - replaced
Now the TV powers up - power led stays green and does not shut down.
Theres a flicker on the panel on first power up with a screen full of sparklies on a dark background.
This all disappears with in 2 seconds leaving a dark screen.

Va, Vsc & Vs all seem ok & jump to a value close to there expected value, but then they all disappear with in 2 secs slowly ramping down.

I metered the diodes & transistors on heat-sinks on the Y-Main & PSU all seem ok.
Strangely there is a hole in the top of the relay (contact end) that shorts out the NTC after initial power up.

Checked for shorts on the y-buffers cant find any.
No bulged caps on any boards.

There is a green led on the tcon PCB which blinks very slowly about 4 or 5 secs.

Looking for insight/advise on what to look for next

    Many thnx

    E

    Panel voltages from lable Va = 55 Vsc = -198 Vs = 211 2Ve = 77 Ve = 89

Boards are all Samsung as follows (I can scan for better quality pictures if needed)

    x buffer - LJ92-01681A LJ41-08460A R1.2 (AA2)
    X MAIN - LJ92-01682A LJ41-08457A R1.3 (AA6)
    YMAIN - LJ92-01683A LJ41-08458A R1.3 (AA5)
    YBUFFER - LJ92-01680A LJ41-06755A R1.1 (AA3)
    Logic Buffer E - LJ92-01703A LJ41-08383A R1.4
    Logic Buffer F - LJ92-01704A LJ41-08384A R1.4
    Panel - S50FH-YB06 (S50FH-YD13)

OK, I would try hooking it to each of the Y- and X-main outputs to see what they do.

50V/div, 10X probe (must be 300V rated or more), 1ms/div

If you need to know where to probe reply back...

Re: BUSH 50" (samsung) BPDP50FHD Plasma no picture

x output has narrow positive going pulses
y have more complex pulses but they both only last for around half a sec
difficult to sync due to short duration of on time

Do the pulses go up to about 200V on both outputs?
The Y output should go both positive and negative with ramps, and sudden pulses too.
TV Trigger mode plus holdoff control seemed to work best for my tests when I had an analog scope (although I now use a digital scope.)

2nd line up - so on the x1 picture its slightly negative.

And was that with DC coupling? (or AC coupling off)

OK - your Y-main is not working properly as the Vsc portion is low or missing.

what do you think is the next to look for on it?.
vsc power supply, transistors or the digital isolating ic
do you have a picture to show what it should look like?

I'll check voltages on vsc and report back

                              Here are some waveforms
                              https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...6&postcount=15

                              Note SC = Y-main, SS = X-main

You want to target the look of the first waveform. The negative period is engaged whenever it is not sustaining or initialising the panel.

                                  Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I was given this TV as due to a power outage of constant On/off of power to TV. The TV originally would just click on and off (Typical Reboot Cycle). I opened the back of the TV, and troubleshooted by taking the 96 pin LVDS off one at a time to see if I had a picture on either side. I finally fixed the reboot cycle by finding the error on the left side of the screen off connector CN 1301, and the TV would stay on. Further troubleshooting led me to the driver boards where...
