Usually but I'm not sure that test is accurate with all panel/tcon designs and implementations. You could try cross-plugging those ribbons one at a time and see if you get the expected results again ?

Ok. So i did a test. And here are some results.

With number 1 out and 2 in. The right side of the panel is grey with lines thru it.

With 2 out and 1 in the left side is darker than the right side. No lines

With 2 in number 1s plug and 1 out the right side is darker than the left. No lines

With number 1 in 2s plug and 2 out i had some lines in the right side but not as bad as the first.

And with the 2 plugs swapped round i got right side darker than left with no lines.

With both out its just black like it always was.

Hope you understand all that and that helps.

After all that I can't say that's conclusive in any manner, especially without pics of these faults. I'd say a tcon replacement at this point is not adviseable due to the cost.
