PFC booster is good just got a reading of 396 VDC with the stand by and PS ON jumped together. I must of not had a good connection between the Stand by and PS ON last time. What would you check next BudM?

Re: New Power Supply and Main board Still No Power

OK, so you now have properly connected the resistor to force on the power supply OK (you now have boosted PFC) so we now know that the main board is not working to turn on the power supply board.
You should now be able to force on the backlights by properly hook up another resistor to force on the backlights but I would not worry about that right now.
But at this point we know that you do have main board problem that you need to deal with.

Thanks! for the training manual that's great information to have.
Using the old power supply I feel like i should list the voltage readings again for reference.

            Black wire pin 1= 3.30v
            brown wire pin 2=3.30v
            red wire pin 3=0.00v
            Orange wire pin 4=0.00v
            yellow pin 5=0.00v
            green pin 6=0.00v
            blue pin 7-0.00v
            dark blue pin 8=0.00v
            grey pin 9=0.00v
            black pin 10=0.00v
            brown pin 11=0.00v
            red pin 12=0.00
            SPACE at Pin 13
            White pin 14=0.00v
            Yellow pin 15=0.00v

Thank you for all the help. I'm going to call Shop Jimmy in the morning to see if i can get a replacement main board.

Also i tried jumping the back lights on and i am not getting the high voltage power to the back lights. I attached a diagram using amnol handy manual to show you were i am taking my reading (circled in black). Also a pic of the same connectors circled in RED in the second picture of my actual PS board.

            Thanks for all the help!

There is a concern that you still do not get the backlghts when you force on the backlights.

Re: New Power Supply and Main board Still No Power

Successfully repaired the TV. The main board from Shop Jimmy was good. The PS from the WISINY.com was bad. After getting a new PS board from Tri-State Moduel the TV powered on nicely. ( scared the crap out of me because the volume was super loud, I thought I had zapped myself. ) The original main board was also good so I will be getting some of my money back for returning the main board I ordered.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR HELP. looking forward to the next repair. Also I will be donating 10% of any profit gain from this TV.

                        Dead, without any led on.

                        3,3V stby are missing.

Pin 4 of IC6201 was 2,8Volt (very low) cause was D6205 (seem good)

Working on kdl-40ex600 have standby 3.3 no led.I jumpered standby 3.3 to power on with 1k resistor with wire that goes back to main board disconnected. There was no other voltages present measured main cap at 60v .Then I noticed on top tv burning smell and a little smoke coming out.this mean the panel is shorted out.

                            by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                            Assuming...

                            by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...

Mid 2014 A1398 MacBookPro,Is it feasible to remove the battery from the MBP and connect it to an external power supply?
                            by Gust zhang
I have a 15 - inch Retina MacBook Pro from the mid - 2014 model. Here is the link: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=820-3662 . The battery broke some time ago. After I removed the battery and plugged in the original power adapter, the MBP could boot up normally. However, when I checked with IntelPowerGadget, I found that the CPU speed was limited to 0.8 GHz, and it ran very slowly. Later, I found a solution on GitHub. There is an open - source project called cputune that can set the CPU running speed. So I can now run the MBP at full speed. But another problem...
