Can a cracked plasma panel cause X-Main to short out?

I got my hands on RCA Plasma 42PA30RQ. According to the owner (and they could have been lying) the TV worked fine until they cracked the screen. The screen does have a visible crack on the inside. When I looked inside the TV, I have found that X-Main was shorted out completely.

In your experience, and for my future reference, can a cracked plasma panel cause X-Main to short out? How about Y-SUS or its buffers?

Generally no. The X-main is a common fault on these models though, so it could have been bad.
I've found plenty of TVs with cracked screens and bad boards... can just be down to the previous owners smashing the set in frustration!

Yes.
I have one .Found x main with igbt transistors shorted I replaced with all good to board.
Then disconnect y board . Then turn on tv with x main. xmain is short instantely.

Running some X/Y sustain boards without the ER path CAN damage them anyway (energy recovery chained between boards.) I damaged an LG PDP this way myself.
