I have a sony tv (KDL-50R550A) which began to show pulsating horizontal blurry lines. The store recommends getting a new tv since this model T-Con board is built into the screen. Purchasing and shipping this part may cost just as much as a new tv. This tv is only about 2 years old. I plan to repair this tv for myself. I am requesting information that may assist in identifying the repairing this problem. Thanks.

Re: KDL-50R550A pulsating horizontal blurry lines
It is probably not the T-Con. Likely a bad panel. If you want to try a T-Con, you can get one on Ebay. The T-Con model is 6871L-3339A. The store told you it was part of the panel because Sony purchases the panel and it cones with the T-Con attached. Sony does not make the part and does not stock it.Comment

Re: KDL-50R550A pulsating horizontal blurry lines
That I know horizontal lines are not caused by tcon problems, it may be the tabs on the side next to the inverter board that connect to the lamps or the inverter itself, on the inverter it may be the transformers. Sometimes it may be the logic or main boar but it will never be the tcon board, if you replace it please let me know how it went.Comment

by howardc64All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

by IhandyrepairHi guys
I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.
never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the... -
by ggil44Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

by noisykid5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

by x_orange90_xI just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.
I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying... - Loading...
