    TH42PX60U Vertical Color bands

    Wondering if this is panel failure? The colors of the lines change and sometimes it's a solid black bar the same width.

    Could the buffer boards have been affected?

      Panel issue--or more acurately, the COF chip attached to the panel on the Mylar film--They are made as an assembly and cannot be replaced separately.

      You'll probably find that the chip's heatsink directly under the faulty area is hotter than the others....

      I remember scrapping Three of this model for exactly the same issue--In One Day!

          Well, at least try to clean and reseat the affect ribbon cable to see if that clears it up, but that does look like IC failure.
