Prizmo PLK-3268 comes on but goes out.

I've been working on my brother-in-laws TV. As the title of the thread explains, it comes on, you get the Prizmo splash screen then it goes black and nothing else. It will turn back of, but if you turn it on, it does the same thing. This thread is to explain what I did to get his TV working again.

Attached you will find photos of the PS-Inverter board. I replaced the 4 Caps that rate at 25v, they are found at C17F, C21F, C22F, and C23F. They are 470uf 25v and 1000uf 25v. I replaced these with low ESR value Caps by both Rubicon and Panasonic, as those are the only ones I had on hand. Be sure they are low ESR values. Also note the voltage ratings printed on the big Cap as a reference, it's rated 100uf at 450v.

As a safety measure, while I had the board out and the soldering iron hot. I resoldered the connections on D8F, D9F, and Q4F. I've resoldered some of these components in the past as a fix for various flat screens.

I hope this will help someone with the same problem. As I said, I searched the internet and couldn't find anything on this model. Problem solved on this unit, however, this may or may not work for your TV. I offer this as something to try as 4 Caps and a little solder is a lot less than a new TV. It won't hurt to try it.

MSI MS-16W1 no power, EC replaced by other.
    by MicroSMD Lab
Hi, I'm working on a MSI laptop, Motherboard number MS-16W11, GF-65 Thin 10SDR-459US. Went to another shop because the screen was flickering, but it was working well on an external monitor. The LCD was ordered and the laptop was returned to the customer and it no longer worked. It was then sent to another tech (by the shop who ordered the LCD) and the EC (ENE KB9028Q) was replaced with a donor from another MSI board with different board number and no programming was done. It looks like work was done on PU6 (TPS51225) as well as one of the GPU mosfets was burnt (I removed all three GPU mosfets)....

Asus FX505DD REV 2.0 no power after someone replaced the cmos battery with a screwdriver.
    by thesame
I have a dead FX505D, motherboard FX505DD REV 2.0 , the owner replaced the cmos using a screwdriver and he touched something on the board, since then the laptop its not starting, i have managed to see that U8800 (BQ24780SRUYR) charging IC is getting hot under a thermal camera , i have desoldered it but the laptop still doesn't power on, i also have no voltage at power connector on the board. I also replaced the U8800 but still no power. What should i check next?

HP Probook 640 G5 - replaced blown components, getting power led, fan full, 5-flashes on CAPS Lock and NUM lock, black screen
    by zlr8r
Hey guys, bit stumped with this laptop after replacing 2 blown components i.e., MP86493, MP2979A.

To begin with, this laptop was dead-dead.

    Now with replaced (visibly) blown components, i do get some progress; after connecting battery or main cable;
    • am getting white power led
    • 5-long-flashes on CAPS Lock and NUM lock
    • then, fan full speed
    • CPU heats up some (smaller die PCH, does not)
    • always constant black screen no matter what's tried
    • no USB recognition
    • no HDMI output
this is as far as I can get with it and not sure where to inspect next ?

    I tried...

HP Victus 15-fb (DAG3PRMB8D0) – ISL88739B replaced, now PROCHOT EXT active and slow CPU (0.4 GHz)
    by adelfr2009
    Hello .
I have an HP Victus 15-fb laptop with the DAG3PRMB8D0 motherboard, Ryzen 7 7535HS CPU, and RTX 2050 GPU. I had a short on the 19 V line, and I was forced to replace the following components:

1- 2 nmos near dc jack connector
2- ic charger (88739b) + small resistor between CSIN pin and sense resistor output
3- i changed also a 1 dual mosfet in VRM

After replacing the VRM MOSFETs and the charger IC, the laptop works and the CPU survived 🙏

However, now I have a problem: the laptop is very slow, running only at 0.4 GHz.
    After...

ViewSonic Pf815 (branded as P225f) Horizontal Deflection Issues - Running out of Ideas
    by rstrube
Note: apologies I initially posted this request for help in the wrong forum! I am reposting it here and will take down the original posting.

    Hi Everyone,

I've been working on repairing this beautiful CRT monitor off and on for the past several months and I'm really at a loss for what might be causing the problem.

Unlike other common Horizontal Deflection issues which result in a steady vertical line, when I turn the monitor on, there is a pulsing (somewhat segmented) vertical line. I've attached a photo that shows the issue (difficult to capture without video)....
