    Hi guys

I have myself a LG PDP50G10343, I have had the same issue as the previous people on this forum and have also performed the same tests as everyone else, I still haven't gotten any success, I say my problem is pointing towards the main control board for the X and Y sustain (50G1A_CTRL) (EBR50038701) has anyone replaced this to fix the issue

Re: LG (LG PDP50G10343) Powers on but no screen picture nor sound

The model number PDP50G10343 sounds like the specific model number of the internal plasma panel itself. Is this a 50" LG Plasma TV model 50PG10 or 50PG20 or 50PG3000 by chance?

If your TV turns on, with audio, but no video, a common issue could be one of the Y-buffer boards. There are two. They are located at the left hand side of the TV as viewed from the rear with the rear cover removed. They are labelled YDRVTP (top) and YDRVBT (bottom). The two buffer boards connect directly to the YSUS (sustain) board, and to each other with a small jumper cable.

For testing, ensure the TV is completely off and unplugged.

Disconnect the UPPER Y-buffer board from the y-sustain, and disconnect the small jumper between buffers. Leave LOWER Y-buffer board connected.

Turn on TV. If you get an image on the lower half of the tv (it may be distorted), then the UPPER buffer is bad and needs to be replaced.

If you still get no image, your lower Y-buffer may be the issue.

POWER OFF AND UNPLUG THE TV.

Re-connect the upper Y-buffer to the Y-sustain board and disconnect the LOWER y-buffer from the Y-sustain board (and from the upper Y-buffer board).

Make sure the jumper cable between the buffers is still removed.

      Power on the TV.

If you now have image on the upper half of the TV (it may be distorted), then your lower buffer board is damaged.

PLEASE NOTE: For these two tests, when you disconnect from the Y-sustain board and other Y-buffer, you can leave the Y-buffer boards connected to the panel ribbons (just tape the board to the side so it does not flop around. Leaving the delicate ribbon cabled still connected to the Y-buffer boards does not interfere with the test, and prevents damaging the delicate ribbon cables, or their connectors.

      Also, please share the part numbers of the Y-buffers in your TV. They will look like EBR50039001 / EBR50039101 or EBR50039003 / EBR50039103, or EBR50039005 / EBR50039105 or EBR50039007 / EBR50039107, etc.

Please report back with your findings.

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
        by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
        by TR103
        Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
        - sound and backlight, but no picture
        - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
        - it keeps rebooting
        - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
        - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
        by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Samsung UN70NU6900F no picture and no sound
        by jchang
        Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

        Symptom:
        No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
        No sound at all.

        What I tried:
        1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...

Samsung UN50NU7400 - No Picture (but boot screen and screensaver)
        by arbitarytwist
Have a Samsung UN50NU7400 which shows a boot screen and a screen saver if left on long enough but no picture ?

Would a moving screen saver confirm that the panel is ok or it could still be a panel issue ?
