Without the buffer connected, then if they all match.

      -vy = -185.3v
      vsc = 151.1v
      Zbias = 109.8v
Similar results with the buffer connected.

Are all voltages permanent or is the tv going back to standby?

Do those voltages match your panel sticker?

I plug the tv in and press the power button on the remote, i hear two clicks and the voltages are there all the time. Yes they match the sticker.

if all the voltages are there all the time the tv can't be going back to standby?

Yes, you are correct, two clicks, the standby light goes off and i hear a buzzing sound.

                  Ok is the panel glowing?

Is there an LED light on the small control board?

The panel glows for a split second when i take it out of standby but then goes back to a dark screen.
The LED is flashing, long flash then short, then a pause and repeat.

Ok disconnect the LVDS cable from the main board and control board.

Then locate 2 holes marked ext auto gen on the control board an put a wire jumper across them.

If you plug in a DVD player via scart, do you get sound?

I still find it strange that the panel doesn't glow considering the y-sus is performing normally.
Are you sure the panel isn't slightly lit up? Darken the room.

Imo if you are sure that you are on a cable station and you aren't getting sound then it's probably a mainboard fault. But that still doesn't explain why the ysus isn't lighting up the panel.

Cheers Hamie, I shall try tonight when its dark as I don't have thick curtains.

If I find it is still slightly lit, what will that indicate ?

Found this so might be a idea to check

One typical failure symptom of a failed power supply board is a TV that has a standby power, but upon attempting to turn TV on it clicks on and quickly back off, never actually turning on and staying on.
An open fuse F302 or shorted diode D304 (located on the right side of heat sink HS2 toward the middle of the board)
At the time of this listing's creation the kit contained 1 fuse (F302), 1 diode (D304) , two power resistors (R927, R929) and the IC301 voltage regulator IC.
Contents may change as we gain more experience and see other commonly failed components and this listing may not necessarily be timely updated

Now it is dark, i can see a feint glow from the screen.
I have just checked the diode and fuse and they are ok, so i've ordered an ic and i shall see what happens.

I have replaced the ic this morning, however i still get two clicks, the panel is white for half a second then dims.
The LED on the control board has a different flash pattern now, 3 short followed by a long one.
Whilst i am looking for some documentation to identify this flash code, can anyone shed any light as to what it indicates ?

this is normal for the tv.
its always done this but you probably just havnt noticed it.

what do you mean by you replaced an IC?

                                            Hi all,

I've got a LG 50PK590 plasma TV which upon plugging in will click three times and the red LED in the corner will come on and stay on, the TV however doesn't come on (no humming, sound, video, etc.) and using the touch controls or the remote does nothing. On exceptionally odd occasions, the TV will come on and work normally when plugged in and will last about 5 minutes before going back to off and unresponsive.

I've got the back off of it and none of the caps stand out as visibly buggered, I've also tested the three resistors in the corner of the power board which...

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.

                                            Samsung BN44-00259A standby question

                                            Hi all.

I started a thread while back regarding TV power supply standby circuitry as it is something I am not quite on top of.
SMPS theory and function is becoming more familiar, however the standby part is still a bit of a mystery.

Anyway, a friend has this TV with the above mentioned power supply board which has no standby voltage, nor any other voltages leaving the board.
The mains AC comes in fine, gets filtered and rectified with power is on the main filter cap as well as the transformer and drain pins of the ICE3B0665J, but that's it.
                                            ...

Hi All, I have an LG 50PK550 with the EAX61392501/10 EAY60968801 power supply board. When I turn it on it clicks and shuts off immediately, I have unpluged the power wires to to Zsus and Ysus board and it does the same thing. I have read up and replaced IC301 & d304 and checked the R927 R929 and all 3 fuses on the board and all appear ok. Still does the same, shuts off immediately with or without the z & ysus board hooked up. Any help would be appreciated. Thx
