Xenuis 42" LCX42XWH41 stuck on stand by

Hi I have the above tv which was starting to be a pain to get turned on, but once on would be fine. Now I am having no luck just the standby goes dim and nothing else.

It has a vestel 17pw26-4 powerboard.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction of sorting this problem.

Checked any voltages on the power board ?

No but when i opened the tv up I noticed on the powerboard that the 1000uf 50v cap is bulged at the top? can this be the cause to my problem?

As it seems it charges after 100+ times giving enough to boost the tele, once the tv is on could leave it turned on for days(not that i do that), no hiccups, just when it seems to have been turned off and all charge out its a pain again.

Please bare with me as i am new to all this, but not someone who is dumb and blind to things, i can be told/shown once and im away.

Yes, a capacitor fault could cause this problem. Remember to use high quality capacitor to replace it. i.e. avoid Maplin and most of eBay (if buying from eBay make sure to get low ESR Panasonic or similar; hm.comp is a decent supplier)

I have noticed on my powerboard like asif the diodes have blown can you relate to this tom here is the pics?

They show what looks like black burned marks cant you see that?
