Toshiba 32C100U1 Half of the screen with lines

I have this Toshiba 32" LCD TV with top half of the screen working normally whilst the lower half of the screen full of horizontal lines.

I re seated all the cables and checked the TAB on the panels, those lines are still there. Tried different input/sources had the same problem. Tried the hair dryer approach on the main board with no success.

Those vertical lines on the bottom right hand side of the screen for some reasons disappeared when the video was played.

Could this be the problem of the LCD panel or the main board ? There are only TABs from the T-CON board and not technically enough to understand why only the bottom half is in trouble and yet, the top half of the screen works perfectly OK ? Was it the signal generated from the mainboard caused the problem or the T-CON Board is the real cause of the problem ?

Anyone any suggestions before investing any parts or is it worth repairing ?

To me, it looks like an LCD panel problem. Have you tried applying pressure to the tab bonds or just checked them for discolouring, etc.?

Hi Tom, thanks for the advice. I checked the tab bonds attached on the LCD panel again by applying pressure on the driver board side as well as on the panel side. Nothing has been changed ie no flickering of video images, no ghosting, no discoloring at all. I did this test whilst the video was playing ie the top half of the screen looks perfectly alright and the bottom half has those horizontal lines across the screen.

I ruled out the problem of the T-CON card and Tab bonds testing seems suggesting that the panel itself is working fine...I guess the main board will be a good guess for causing the horizontal lines problem ????

No, the main board wouldn't cause this fault. The way main boards process video isn't suscepitble to these kinds of faults. At best this would be a T-con fault, but in my opinion the panel has failed (sorry!)

Thanks Tom. Got it and thanks for the advice. I guess it is not worth repairing if the panel has failed.

            Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
            by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
            by kca
            Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

            Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
            by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

            Toshiba 49U7750VQ HALF SCREEN DARK
            by buchman
I opened the TV and tested each LED strip, and they all work fine. Checked voltage on the CN400 plug that goes to the LEDs and LED1 I had 62.6 volts and on LED2 I had 38 volts. How much should it be? what can be the cause? On the back of the board there is a Transistor (I think), the part number is BR10T100. What should be the reading? I tested it and had a Short between the 2 small legs. is that OK?...

            Samsung QN50Q60t lines on screen
            by jeyoung12
            Hi all
I have lines on the screen...which is an age old problem that can be remedied by watching Youtube videos and getting out the tape.
My issue (after successfully fixing a different sammy tv with a separate tcon board and isolating the side of the panel...):

This tv has an integrated tcon...so it is a bit more confusing when trying to isolate the clocks.
It has a c ribbon and i have taken each end out to see if that will isolate the lines. instead, it makes it much worse ALL over the tv!

So....i don't know what end of the C ribbon to work with...
