      Re: Sony KDL-32EX400 fault finding

As per my posting, standby voltage was clearly a lot higher with the working ic, acdetin was up to 6v from 0.6v, and as predicted by you budm the mode voltage was at vcc in standby mode with a working IC

Here's the document I found with a repair process. It mentions adding the two diodes. I notice on the hires screenshots of the power supply board ending in -12 on shopjimmy (mine ends with -11) these diodes are present!

Here's the spanish doc as promised. If I take any more measurements they'll be when I reopen the tv to fit the two additional diodes.

Would anyone be able to theorise the reason they have been added?

      cheers!

I would expect those two diodes will act as clamping devices, making the chip more robust to handle transients.

Does it says which pin of the IC or where the two diodes are connected too?
          BTW, thanks for the info.

Strange CRT Fault (Sony Trinitron M1410U)
            by sickboy
This is a CRT I sold a few months ago and it's came back with this weird issue. It's intermittent, but not a thermal fault, or tap sensitive - just completely random. The right side of the picture completely blanks out (picture is not shifted). The on screen display is unaffected though, so not a fault in the line section. Anyone seen anything like before in a CRT?

            Sony KDL-46HX850 Can't upgrade/update firmware
            by dkneyle
Diagnosed this TV as having a failed main board which I've replaced with one from a KDL 55HX850. They are (supposedly) the same board.

Being 'Smart TV' it requires a firmware reboot when you swap out boards such as T-Con or main board. It starts with a black screen and flashing yellow and green LEDS, indicating it needs that firmware boot. The procedure described all over the web is to put the software into the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and it should load that up once plugged into USB1 port. But not for me. I can see the LED on the USB chip flash for about...
