    samsung le32a457c1d picture goes black

    Hello Guys

Had this tv 2 weeks ago fixing for a friend could not find nothing wrong the tv apparently would go to black screen then you cant use the side buttons or remote so i done a reset due to not finding much wrong voltages seemed fine as well, this seemed to work for 2 weeks but now its back again with the same fault

i have added pictures and this time removed glue on some of the components this time due to reading they do become conductive could this be the fault or would you say mainboard fault ?

one of the pictures shows how heated the glue became on the components

    thanks

Bad glue definitely the bain of this PSU. Is the 24V dropping out on the PSU when fault occurs? That is usually due to bad glue. On the set I did, glue was contaminating one of the transistors on the power board causing the set to work intermittently.

This is the message I get from my friend :
Ok mate u can only turn on by the button on the side of the TV. Remote doesn't work only on off button and source works on the side of TV. The TV comes on to a programme fine then will just change to mono the grey screen. That's it mate

Would it be worth trying a main board or would the glue have caused this only asking because I can't get the fault to replicate itself

Hard to tell. Low power supply outputs can cause a variety of symptoms. It does sound more like a main board fault though. I think you need to get it to reproduce the fault to be sure, unfortunately. Maybe something wrong with his setup rather than the TV?
