definitely sounds like a short in buffer driving the voltage is down going into reset

His upper buffer looks suspect to me, the up one in his photo the first set of 4x5 20 hole solider points look really dark as if it was burn but not though the board like mine was.

But we will wait to see what he finds out from the test.

So I checked all of them on bothe these settings and I git beeps on both boards on the "200" setting in this photo and I got a .000 reading on the other setting. Did I do it wrong?

Have you fired up the panel with out the buffers and see if your Ysus is no longer clicking and the voltages are up to spec?

Gotcha, want to try some shotgun testing?

Put in your bottom buffer and hook it up as normal and try to see if you get half a picture.

2 out of the 3 I have worked on (one having a busted screen) the two I got working were both upper ybuffer failures.

Make sure all the screws are in the Ybuffer. But yes.

Now do the same thing with the upper Y buffer, (remove the lower) out of circuit.

Sounds like your Ysus is shot then.

But try the upper Y drive buffer in and see what happens anyway.

Was this your TV or did you get it broken?

Right on, These have a pretty damn good picture when up and running. These are worth fixing. The Ysus if you are not into repairing them is kinda pricey the Buffers (I would replace both if you are going to get a replacement Ysus) are not spendy at all.

Let us know what you find out with the upper buffer attached and powering on the unit.

I put the upper on it by itself but nothing at all happens. The PS clicks and then nothing at all.

I'll mostlikely buy the parts on Friday. I will update the thread then. If there is any other i formation please enlighten me. Also what does the x-main control?

Sounds like your upper buffer and lower buffer and Ysus are toast. So when both are plugged in the Panel comes on with chime and audio from a source or does it just do what it is now doing with the upper ydrive buffer and not turning on?

Okay so when everything is connected, it's turns on with a chime, sound and no picture.
When the ymain is unplugged, it turns on the same way, and when the ymain is connected, and the lower is connected it does the same thing, and when the upper and lower are disconnected but the ymain is connected it does the same thing also. The only time I get a different result is when the upper is connected lower is disconnected, nothing at all happens.
