    Philips 47PFL7603D/10

    Hi guys,

I've had this TV a while, decided I wasn't going to ask on here and attempt to solve it myself.... that didn't happen.

What happens is, when you plug it in it'll click, the light at the front flashes and then it'll click back off. If you press the power button on the side after it's clicked itself back off, it'll click on again, but this time the backlight will come on, but nothing else.

I thought it might have been a power board issue, I read somewhere that 10 flashes on the front means a power board issue, but it wouldn't fire up the backlights if it was would it?

I've recapped the board but that didn't solve anything, I'm about to attempt taking some readings from the power supply, my meter probes are a bit too thick but I'm going to attempt again.

Could it be the t-con? I read that a blown fuse in the t-con could cause the backlight to come on but no picture itself?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd start with the power supply test, try using a needle for backprobe if you need to.

I think I've broke it. I'd already taken it apart to look at the t-con. I've reassembled now to start with the tests but nothings working now, no clicks no nothing. There's mains going in but that's all.

I did a continuity test on the t-con fuse and it was ok. I don't know what I've done upon reassembly for it not to work. It's on the floor at the side of my table at the moment haha.

Posting pictures of the back of your tv showing the boards with clear pictures may help you more with fixing your problem

Yeah I'll take some once I can. I was asked to look at another TV for someone and it's taking up all my room at the moment

dunno, might have popped the fuse on power supply?

                  Repair attempt Philips 55OLED804/12
                  by Sharpa
                  Hello,

I bought a SH Philips 55OLED804/12 TV with known defect in an attempt to repair it for personal use.

The symptoms when bought: Philips logo appears then tv turns off

                  Things tried so far:

                  1. Powering it on: Philips logo shows on the screen, sometimes with some minor artefacts then shuts down. Red status led flickers rapidly into two batches then repeats
                  2. Put it in recovery mode by pressing joystick down then plugging it to mains: The tv shows the logo then shows the android animation along with some minor artefacts on the screen...

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
                  by kca
                  Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
                  by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

philips 55pfl5907/f7 flashes and goes black
                  by diazald
Hi Guys I have a philips 55pfl5907/f7 Backlight flashes and then goes black Protection Mode I assume. This set has a LED Driver board and is Edge lit (Only 2 light strips). I put my LED checker on the connection and get 103v on 7 of the segments and 112v on the 8th segment. Obviously theres an LED out on that segment but still lights up.

Could such a small voltage difference cause the set to go into 'protection Mode'?

                  Thanks in advance
                  Will

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                  by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...
