I'm not sure about the firmware but there always could be a problem with the mainboard I have seen in the past HDMI controllers being taken out by voltage spikes static electricity or lightning strikes going through the HDMI port from the source of whatever it was connected to. Do you know the history on the TV?
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

dont know history, was a throw away cuz of bad panel bond, thought maybe firmware would revive the hdmi, not sure tho.

          πŸ› οΈ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
          by macabook
          Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
          🧩 Initial Issue
          • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
          • External display (HDMI) shows

HDMI ports not working - Panasonic model number TX-P50XT50B 50"
          by BadTelly
          Hi,

Suddenly all HDMI ports stopped working on a Panasonic 50" TV. This is model number TX-P50XT50B and has worked fine for years.

The TV turns on but no joy on either HDMI-1 or HDMI-2 and I've tested it using an input device and cable that works fine on another TV via HDMI.

Thank you in advance for any help/ advice.

          Kind regards,

          Bad Telly

Samsung UN50MU6070FXZA - HDMI Ports Not Working
          by grimacelord
Hello. Samsung UN50MU6070FXZA here with both HDMI ports non-working. I have already verified multiple sources and multiple cables to ensure it isn't something simple like that as well as resets and software updates.

I took the mainboard out and gave it a look. Nothing looks bad or burned. All of the HDMI pins are nice, none are broken at their pads either.

Following the traces, it looks like both HDMI ports trace back to the main CPU which does seem to get hotter than I think it should despite it's (rather poor) heatsink.

          Since the HDMI controller appears...

MSI GF63 MS-16W21 - Black Screen LCD - Working HDMI
          by mavaro
          Hello,
I have an MSI GF63 laptop with a MS-16W21 motherboard on my table, and there is no image on the LCD screen. However, when connected via HDMI, the image displays correctly.

Voltages on the EDP 40-pin connector pins:

          3pin = 012V,
          5pin = 1.75V,
          6 pin = 5V,
          7 PIN = 3.3V
          32 PIN = 2.2V
          33 - 36 PIN = 3.3V
          38-40PIN - 19V

          PU21 - MP2143

          1 - 5V
          2 - 5V
          3 - 3.3V
          4 - 0V
          5 - 3.3V
          6 - 0V
          7 - 0.6V
          8 - 3.3

          Help me please ...
