    Olevia 237-t11

    Hi,

I've been reading the many threads on Olevia TVs and am now caught up on them all (I think), and also made progress on the problem TV. At first, it wouldn't respond to the front panel buttons, blue led was always on; I found only one bulged cap in there, and replaced it
(in the 5V section) but no change - then I touched up 4 or 5 solder joints that had kind of an oxidized look to them (as opposed to the mostly shiny look of the rest of 'em) and it started coming on when I next pushed the PWR button (hooray!).

Then I could see what the former owner meant by it having kind of a spider web look to it (I try to attach pics), I guess the display itself is toast, but the rest of it may be good for parts.
It's still a little odd to turn it off though, usually won't turn off right away when i push the power button if it's only been on a little while, the longer it's been on the more normal it seems to work.

Thanks in advance for any ideas, suggestions as to parting it out or tests for reliability.

    Mike

Probably there are still some borderline capacitors which haven't bulged yet. When it's on for a while, they will heat up, and their ESR drops, which makes the supply more stable.

I think it is a broken screen, I'll try to attach some pics again.

            That makes sense.

I think I succeeded in attaching some pics onto a previous post - Do I need to be worried about damaging the electronics by leaving it on in this broken-screen condition?

            Thanks

LED problem on samsung UE55F6475, 2 strips work. The rest is flashing every second.
                  by Kingfreddie
                  Ok.. this is the story:
Have an old Samsung LED 3D TV (UE55F6475). First it started to lose light on the lower 40% of the screen now and then. Like for 10-60 mins and then it would work again. Then a bit later it just got stuck in that position. The lower 40% of the screen is dark, and it gets progressively darker the lower u go so it's obviously that LED strips where not working. I also looked for similar errors online and saw an exact copy and on that one it was faulty LED strips.

This is kinda how it looked, just that mine were at the bottom of the screen:

Diagnosing NAD receiver -- unexplained shut-downs
                  by JordanW
Everyone -- I am trying to troubleshoot my NAD C740 stereo receiver, which either won't power on or won't consistently stay powered on.

I will start by saying that I am a hobbyist, and while I am decently handy with basic DC stuff, I am more hesitant when it comes to mains-powered equipment (that is, reluctant to poke around with a multimeter when it is powered on)

The central issue is that after a long period of non-use, the receiver powers on and all functions seem to behave normally, but after a couple of minutes, it powers itself off.

                  If I attempt...

                  AMD Radeon R9 290 / R9 380 / R9 390

The Radeon R9 290 was a high-end graphics card by AMD, launched on November 5th, 2013. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Hawaii graphics processor, in its Hawaii PRO variant, the card supports DirectX 12. This ensures that all modern games will run on Radeon R9 290. The Hawaii graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 438 mm² and 6,200 million transistors. Unlike the fully unlocked Radeon R9 290X, which uses the same GPU but has all 2816 shaders enabled, AMD has disabled some shading units on the Radeon R9 290 to reach the...

                  by Jojo337
                  Hi all !

                  I got a Sony 55HX850 with psu APS-326(ch) and Driver LED ST550RD-S01.
I don't know what happenned before I get it.

The TV is working great, except the led backlight that does'nt. Backlight nevers turn on, not even a little flash.

The TV doesn't show red light errors at start The tv is working, I heard the sound of TV from antenna, menu etc... with the flash of my phone I can see the picture that seems fine (T-con OK ?).

Fuses from Driver LED ST550RD-S01 seems fine (multimeter beeping : not broken, 0V), and caps of...
