    42PJ350 clicking noise

    Hi everyone,

I know that there are multiple treads on this subject but none of them seem to be exactly like mine, as far as I understand them (I am no technical guy...) So here is the problem, whenever I power it on, the TV shows nothing on the screen whatsoever (nothing at all!), it clicks twice, gives a kind of buzzing sound, clicks once and then repeats this cycle. The threads that I have read, mention buying all kinds of new boards or parts....isnt it better to just buy a new TV, I mean this one is from 2010...

So I am open to any suggestions on how to fix this one...

    Cheers!

First please post pictures of the parts inside the set... it is important they are of your set because manufacturers can frequently change the design.

Do you have a digital multimeter available?
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

      Hi Tom,

Thanks for getting back to me mate! I have attached the pictures as you asked. Its one picture of the entire back of the TV and three pictures of the left, middle and right part. I hope they are good enough to work with. As for the meter, as we speak I'm trying to get my hands on one. As soon as I have one I'll get back to you. In the mean time, can you tell anything just from looking at the pictures? Many thanks!

Removing electrical noise introduced by fan
        by tony359
        Hi all,

I am working on a sound processor, it tends to overheat so I fitted a fan inside. The fan is connected to the +15V of the PSU via a DC-DC converter based on the LM2596 to reduce the voltage to around 10.5V.

Unfortunately the analogue circuitry is picking up the noise from the fan in two ways:
        1. The fan is close to the analogue section, the motor itself gets into the outputs so I'll have to move it somewhere else
        2. Even with the fan running outside of the case, there is still some noise which is clearly going back to the processor via power line....

Onkyo TX-SR805 noise in one channel

Surprisingly enough, this receiver doesn't have the DSP chip issue. The HDMI board does not get hot, and sound over HDMI works fine.

Regardless of the input, the right channel has noise that is clearly noticeable even on average volume level. The only cases when there's no noise is when VCR input is selected (some tracks on the board are damaged, maybe that's why), or if HDMI input is selected but nothing plugged into it. In all other cases, even when no input is connected I still have the noise.

There's some logic behind it. As soon as I select an input I get only left...

        Symptoms:

The TV turned itself off, and I haven't been able to turn it back on. The standby voltage was unstable and lower than it should be.
A weak clicking sound was coming from the transformer.

        Video with clicking sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAduhjNtqCA

        Progress:

After the transformer, I measured four Schottky diodes. DM862C and DM864C diodes readings were 003 in both directions. After detaching them from the circuit and measuring them, DM864C was the shorted one. These Schottky diodes are SB550.I...

Philips HTS8000 home cinema noise problem

        Hello

I have since a long time a Philips HTS8010S/01 which has been old but was doing the job.

Since a few days, it starts by making a weird "static" nois when switches on for a few seconds to a minute and then works like a charm.
Noise loudly outputs from the 3 channels, even if no signal is sent by the controler.DVD to the subwoofer/amp unit.

I was thinking of a soldering that was starting to be damaged and that was only doing the job after a few seconds of heating, most probbaly on the power board
        Removed each of tyhe boards
