What are the boards inside the set? Vestel, or another OEM?

Hmmm exactly the same parts i fixed the other day with the shorted diodes

      Vestel 17IPS61-2 Psu
      17MB62-2.6 Mainboard

i tried this but i cant get into service mode:

To turn off the burn-in mode, please follow these instructions:
      1. Press the "M" button on the remote to obtain the on-screen menu.
      2. Press the numbers 4 7 2 5 in quick succession to enter service mode.
      3. Highlight Option 1 using the Down arrow on your remote control.
      4. Once highlighted, press the Right arrow to access Option 1.
      5. Highlight Burn-in Mode using the Down arrow on your remote control.
      6. Now press the Right arrow to turn off Burn-in mode.
      7. When Burn-in mode is set to No, press OK on the remote control to exit the service mode.

        They're everywhere, these Vestel junkers.

I was about to suggest something along those lines. Second suggestion is to try updating the firmware.

If you have a similar set, you can copy the firmware off it:
        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...92&postcount=8

This will then allow you to install the firmware on the new TV.

Please upload the firmware you copy off, if you do, as it will help others.

There's no dedicated EEPROM on these sets you could try resetting unfortunately.

The only other sets i have are the 19 inch and 22 inch JMB tvs with the same parts but i dont think the firmware would be the same ?
i can get into the menu when i turn the tv on but 20 secs later the screen colours start changing and you can not access the menu any more

Do you have any access to 4-7-2-5 MENU or MENU 4-7-2-5?
The other sets: May work IF -- they both have same panel (Samsung = Samsung, LG = LG, etc.), they are both 1080p and they both have DVD players.

no firstly the JMB are not dvd players so that wont work and i tried 4-7-2-5 MENU or MENU 4-7-2-5 but you only have roughly 10-15 secs before the screen flashes so what we looking at maybe only option replacement mainboard ?

Unfortunately that may be the only option, 10-15 seconds though. if you're fast, I reckon you could reach the reset option. Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

You could also try NVRAM download on THIS set, then re-install firmware from the download, that might reset the software. It is worth a shot if you're going to buy a new board - can't break it any further.

I seem to recall a Samsung that had this issue on this forum and the guy tried for 1/2 hour before he managed to get it. (Would shut off 10 seconds after power on.) Practice makes perfect......

                      Is your product code "6750407"?
There's little harm in trying I suppose, as you can always update the firmware on these with button presses on the TV... although do not interrupt it, as you could damage the bootloader, which would "brick" the TV.

Hi, so I bought a YLOD Fat PS3 as I wanted a repair project and thought it would be a good way to get experience. I was able to solder to the RX, TX and Diag pads on the COK-002 motherboard and was able to get external access and retrieved the codes. I haven't powered it on beforehand so these should be the last ones. I did try to get internal access immediately after but kept getting scopen response...

Hello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.

The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.

                                  I can't find any schematics...

I was wondering if anyone could help my in pairing a remote with a Toshiba fire tv?
The Tv model number is: 50lf711u20 Rev B.

I've already replaced all the the circuit boards within the tv along with the I.R. sensor receiver.

I've tried 3 different remotes which should be fully compatible with this TV.

Oddly enough. A few if the buttons on all of the remotes actually work. Even without pairing...which makes no sense.

I’ve got a subwoofer that I’ve had for nearly 20 years, it did come with a basic remote which I’ve lost. It’s a generic make of subwoofer, I can’t see a brand sticker on it. It comes with 2 speakers.

Question recently I’ve connected it up to my tv which has greatly improved the sound on my tv, however I’d like to be able to mute the subwoofer when ads come on or just mute it when the phone rings etc. I tried using a cheap all in one tv remote on the subwoofer and the volume button would only work to increase volume but not turn it down or mute it

                                  Is there...
