42PC3D cycles on and off until unplugged

    Hello Everyone,

This problem as progressed over time. When I turn the TV on it cycles on and off and will only turn on and stay on if I unplug the power cable for a few seconds and plug it back in. It typically takes several times for this method to work. Everything with the TV works fine when it's on.

Yesterday I replaced 4, what looked to be bad, capacitors on the power supply. All four were 10v 3300mf. I could only find 25v 3300mf rated caps locally so I put those in. I read of this being acceptable on a samsung so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I still have the same issue as described above but with one difference. If the TV has been on and I turn it off and on again immediately it will turn on without issue, no cycling. Before it would cycle regardless.

I read of an AC Detect issue with an easy fix but can't find the thread.

    Any help is appreciated,

    Casey

I should have mentioned this is an LG tv.

Can anyone give me a place to start troubleshooting?

    Thanks everyone,

OK, finally found Tom's AC detect thread. This was the fix it looks like!

      Thanks for this great forum!
