This LED TV suddenly developed video problems while watching. Sound is o.k. Video is distorted and appears saturated and solarized with high persistence such that movement shows as a blur. This problem also exists on menus and the built in test picture and appears on all input sources including USB. I suspect the T-Con board. Have disassembled unit and tried to check cables and connectors. Not sure how to disconnect T-Con ribbon connectors. Looking for Service Manual or any info to help with disassembly and testing. Have tried service menu to access test patterns. Is there a test pattern originating on T-con? Is there a possible gate tab bond failure? I have attached a video showing problem. Any help appreciated.

My opinion: Bad LCD panel. Uneconomical to repair. I'm sure it's not the news you'd like. Sorry...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Crazy, made the Ellen show worth watching!
Anyway, to access the Service menu, power the panel down, and with the original remote hit in this order MUTE, 1,8,2 and then power.
This will put you in SVC mode upon power up and you will see a ton of new menu options when the screen comes on.
Try and fine the test patterns in Option Byte (might be in some other menu too) once you find them, Depending on what is available it should be LOGIC,FRC, DDR, FBE ect ect.
DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING outside of running the test patterns if you do and didn't right it down you can cause more issues. just use caution when milling around in these menus as any changes you make are perm and cannot be reset unless you know what you changed and change it back.

Quite often LCD panel issues these days affect the far-left tab bond which cascades across the panel to cause this and similar other effects. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung UN55ES6500 - video problems, need info
pretty old thread at this point, i wanted to know if a root cause was located with this issue. i have a the same model tv and have some similar issues to this but not the same.
mine i have issues on only the left side of the screen. right side was normal. in fact if you cut the tv in to vertical 1/4th the left most has a normal lighting but is interlaced horizontally with black lines and come dim color and animation ghosts in this area the left middle no ghosting but is very dim, right mid and right most both look norm. back light seems to be good across the tv.
after reading on here a bit i tested disconnecting the t con board and powering up screen looks good totally black back lights are all on no images persist on the screen. reconnect the tcon and back to my problem state.
i have experience with repairing several electronics but mostly just component boards not so much with testing caps and power bars and such.
looking for someone else who might have some since of what could be causeing this
not reeeally trying to hijack the thread
thanks for any help or updates on the op's issue

Re: Samsung UN55ES6500 - video problems, need info
ok did as instructed
first one removed lead to the broken side and yea basically just got a black screen
second one lead to the working side and could see the on screen message up the other side was just off.
makes me wonder if i can / should dismount the board and move the broken side ribbon into the working side of the t-con of if that would even work and not break it more lol
so in your experience does that mean its a failure somewhere on the t-con board or somewhere else. im crossing my fingers that i can just get a different tcon.
thanks for the assistance.

Re: Samsung UN55ES6500 - video problems, need info
i wrote that backwards.
removed lead to working side, leaving the broken side connected and could not see anything. however no inputs were connected at the time. and im not sure what on screen messages appear on that side i did hit the menu button but did-int see anything
then swapped the connections and on screen message was there and looked normal. with exception that the other side of the screen was disconnected.

Re: Samsung UN55ES6500 - video problems, need info
Quite possible VGH (Von) typically 20~30Vdc is missing on the Gate Driver side...If you have the VGH (Von) voltage on the T-CON look for it on the X/Y Tab Bond Board.....Most likely it's missing......so to solve this problem just solder a thin wire connection to the Tab bond Bd and this may fix your issue.......Other signals may be present on the Source Bd and perhaps be absent on they-Tab Bond like Voff, CPV1, VCOMG1, VST1, STV, CPV2, VCOMG2.....

Re: Samsung UN55ES6500 - video problems, need info
I have the same model Samsung and have some bright spots showing up on the left side of the screen only when the picture background is a light color.
Is this a sign of a bad panel or is the edge lighting going bad? I am new to this forum and cannot post my own thread yet or post a picture of the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
