    RCA L32WD22 recapped, but now high pitched noise

    The power supply needed all new caps, replaced with high quality Panasonics. It powers on normally now, but has this very annoying high pitched noise coming from it. Has anyone seen this before, the TV is a pain to disassemble. Thanks!

    (It seems to start when backlight turns on)

      Hi folks, I have an issue with my 7 year old Panasonic TX-L50B6B that has appeared within the last few days.

      The symptoms are:
      • A high pitched "buzzing" / "whining" noise coming from the TV when it is turned on. There is no noise during standby, and the noise persists with all AV connections removed.
      • There are noticable horizontal lines in the picture. Upon closer inspection it looks like every few rows of pixels are dead/black.


      Attached is a close-up of the picture in "test mode", to demonstrate the rows of black lines.

      Hello,

      I have a MXR Guitar Pedal here that turns on, passes audio but does not add the effect. It has a high pitched squeal that varies tone depending on delay speed.

      Its a analog delay pedal using four BBD (BL3208A), one compander (SA571D), one clock (cd4047), one TL082 and one 33178.

      This pedal is prone to some issues (ESD), but i replaced the common faulty transistors and the problem remained. In fact, the original ones were still good (tested on component tester).

      Anyone familiar with this pedal to give me some light?

      Issue: Funai FW55D25F - High Pitched Squeal Upon Power-on.

      Solution: Replace C3208 and C3209 on main board. These are surface mounted capacitors. Values unknown so I just used same physical size capacitors from a donor board.

      Hello people,

      I'm trying to troubleshoot this laptop, I think there is some kind of short-circuit but as I'm still learning, I need some help.

      As soon as the AC adaptor is plugged into the computer (with the computer still off), the main board starts emitting a high pitch noise. It's a bit like the sounds of an analog dial-up modem, but very high-pitched. I don't know how to describe it.

      Nevertheless the computer can be turned on and works, but the battery isn't charging, even if the system reports it is charging (the charge is fixed at 9%).

      Here we go again with another PSU!
      Because of the last two successful repairs a friend of mine brought his Enermax Revolution87+ 850W power supply. He complains that his PSU emits an annoying whining when using the PC in idle.

      Actually it's true, it's really annoying and disappears on higher loads (for instance when running a game). On idle, this whine is louder whenever I do something (e.g. move the cursor or a graphic element, such as the scroll bar on a web page).
